Well boys and infants....about time that I can tell you fine fellows to suck it!

Maybe they should let Wee Willy sit to start the season. Let his cash dwindle and make it so he won't ever be able to make it up over the rest of the season. A nice little message to say, we'll be fair but don't try to punk us. You are number 6 on the depth chart so don't start asking for All-Star caliber pay.

Thing is Nylander could have all star calibre potential. He doesn't deserve that money yet, but it wouldn't shock me if he kept pace with Pastrnak over the next few years. And that's not hyperbole. The talent is there, he just needs to get after it.

Are you an anti Toronto fan ? Just curious, new here and all.

And He went to the Sharks, so no need for you to worry about that.

Problem is though as you mentioned - he hasn't put up Pastrnak numbers yet, and allegedly wants significantly more than Pastrnak money. Leafs should and will dig in at $6 to $6.75 for 7-8 years and thats it - otherwise he gets bridged at $5 million.

Oh look...Dotchin is becoming available.

Leafs take a gamble and pick him up, then feed him to Roberts for a month of conditioning. Dotchin has learned his lesson...becomes a gud pro....a RH, big, humble and grateful, gud pro. Then Matthews and Gauthier each rochambeau him in front of the rest of the team.

Careful leafs fans... don't set your expectations too high... cause this could still happen:

Sign the big lug - he'll batter & bruise his old team

If Stevie Y was still in charge, Dotchin would have showed up in shape.

Nylander and Pasternak had comparable career numbers when Pasternak signed his deal.

if there's contract space then why not? and yes - let Gauthier run him a few times.

Pasternak had 34 goals and 70 points the season before he signed his deal. Not sure that's comparable.

Ennis on the top line with Matthews? I hope this is just Babcockery... give Leivo a shot at that position, he's waited (good soldier) for a real shot... let him run with Nylander's spot... it would either prove he can be a top 9 forward OR answer the question that he can't.

Ennis there proves absolutely nothing.

Pastrnak's contract is the sign of the devil. 6 x 6666666.

Eff that noise. Good player though (cuz he sold his soul to Beelzebub.)

Pastrnak had one 70 point season before he got paid, his first 2 seasons were good but not as good as Nylanders first 2 NHL seasons. I could easily see Willie getting 70+ points next year with a healthy Matthews.

It's time to give Leivo a shot or move him to a team that will.
