League didnt step in to pay players...even if that rumour of the refinancing loan to make payroll is true. It is a loan that that organization applied for and was granted. They are now within their right to use that refinancing loan as they need to as part of their proposal

Again, the league cant force an owner to sell if he is playing within the system that is set up and has not done anything unlawful or detrimental to the league

The financial rumour floating around town is that a substantial portion of Melnyk's debt has been bought up by local people. These are the same investors (developers) that want to purchase the team. I don't know how much truth there is to this rumour but there is a wicked about of smoke swirling around several big law firms.

If one of the richest men in Ottawa is having debt bought up, that would be actual news and not some hush hush cloak and dagger stuff that only a few select Sens fans to seem to know

During the Heatley debacle I heard from three different people who "knew a guy" who knew what was really going on. All three stories were wildly different.

I imagine it's similar in most cities. We've been hearing this for about 8 months regarding finances, that "somethings coming".

I'll believe it when I see it for real.

or maybe nothing is happening and Eugene is telling the truth with "I'm not going anywhere". I mean, he's been saying that for years, and it's been true for years.

Spatso has been saying for at least 5 years Eugene was on his way out, and nothing has happened.
