By starters do you mean Bailey? lol
- kindlyrick

No bailey today. Only starters were are 1st and 4th lines. Pullock and Leddy only one star on defense. The rest were trying out.
Great game. Isles had great control and very few mistakes

Bellows has strong game. Pp looked strong
Barzal looks faster and more prepared than ever.
Cizikas has great games. As did. Clutterbuck. So nice to see that line together with Martin

No doubt. he a hard nosed player with extremely good shot. he has a few more preseason games like this and no question it will be hard to keep him out of lineup.
Ladd already cant get through practice without having his what seems bad back bothering him.

Kovar is another interesting player. He has great Hockey IQ, made some nice plays but does suffer from Baileyatitis. This condition plagues you when you go on a 2 on 1, have a optimal opportunity shooting chance and you chose to make another unnecessary pass that leads to no scoring chance.

You DID NOT just chirp Bailey. Bite your tongue.

Bellows is a pedigree. You knew he’d have those intangibles. Great asset.

of course i just chirped bailey, Im very much of aware of his shortcomings. but i also know skill and talent too.
at 6M or whatever making now, at 60-75point Bailey is one hell of a player to have. Him and Barzal are the best passers on team and he has a very complete game.

Bailey going to surprise you all again this year.

forgot to mention, while Flyers were missing most of their regulars, Lehner made his saves looked so easy and when you saw him in net it look like he had one of those kids nets behind him he covered it so well.
Wouldnt it be something for Lehner to shocked the NHL and win the Vezina. But if that happens we could be calling the Islanders this years Vegas Knights too.

And Tavares can do this 400th interview of the year b/c he has already done like 200 in preseason. Seems Lou words hurt him. Sorry JT, you are dead to us Isles fans now.

When JT goes from the 8th or 9th team in the NYC Pro Teams market to one of the National Flagship teams in Canada already laden with young stars egos, well GL Johnny! There's a difference between being interviewed by a NYC Isles Hockey reporter vs being on TSN or CBC every night. Those stock replies he gives to Arthur Staple won't cut it in Canada.

I think Bailey is going to have under 70pts. Yes he’s talented but not having Tavares will make it harder on him on the scoresheet.

Tavares is a joke. He can say whatever he wants but how he handled his exit was nothing short of bushleague. Isles are better off. He’d have been the go to and seeing how he ran to Toronto to be their number 2, the isles are better off. He’s not a true captain.

I dont want to get too excited and probably should reserve my comments to after tonights game in Philly as Flyers will be suiting their big guns against our 2nd, 3rd line and then some tryout players. If we seem a continuation of what we saw yesterday where you have Team first look to team, i think JT gone is just want this team needed.

No more sitting back given Tavares 21 mins ice time where he burnt out in each of last 3 seasons. Now its everyone we got working together.
yesterday was complete domination in that game. Everyone make a nice impression.

Trotz and Lou going to have some tough cuts to make. Even Sbisa looked good on defense.

indeed and loving it. No more sending a kid back to Minors but it was more convenient for GM. Best player plays. If Ladd and his granny back cant perform, guess what - looks like someone else going to play instead.

Lets see how tonight goes. Does anyone know if that is being broadcasted?

Looks like JHS once again going back to bridge. Bellows like Beau Last year will beat him to a spot.

I didn't think we were hard on the puck and we were easy to play against," said Head Coach Barry Trotz. "

This sounds like a great description of a line containing bailey and Nelson.

Greiss. 3gaa on 13 shots?

full highlights are available on NHL.com.

First goal of game, Nelson got blown past and of course Seidenberg was on defense.
The PP goals, Greiss didnt stand a chance. Gostisbehere ripped 2 blasts.

You know its bad when your 4th line of rookie tryouts are you best line. Sislo was only isles forward with 4 shots and no other forward on team had more than 2 shots on net.

Hits don't come via chat. They come via the blog. Chatter is via forum software. It never made a difference. The fact so many think comments equal blog hits gives sway to a lack of understanding of how this site works. The numbers were solid. I just couldn't give time and effort after June/July. Ate away too much in other areas despite the pay. But I'm sure some will make up their own reality.

When Eklund came by I was ready to retire. So gave it a go to see if the new regime and regular schedule would keep it going In August, I knew that it wouldn't and it ate into important items that I was prioritizing.

Cheers.
