The key is that EK is only a 1 year rental right now, tough to give a lot for that. Hopefully we will be in on the bidding next year, though I think like Taveras EK has his sights set on one team.

I bet they'll be on separate pairs, with I guess Vlasic and Braun as their partners. You have to worry about Burns on one pair.. then right after he gets off the ice you're dealing with Karlsson.

He will resign in sj their core is looking for a cup which means they will be in or trying to stay in contention until the last one of their core dries up. Living in cali has to be nice if youre loaded and no one will likely know who the hell he is so he wont have the pressure cooker he did in a canadian market.

I have Burns in a keeper league, so I'm real curious how this plays out fantasy-wise.

Gotta give it to the Sharks GM. He did fine in this deal even if it's a rental because it probably makes the team one of the favorites for the Cup... and if they can sign Karlsson to an extension they did outstanding.

On a lesser note this is the same GM who extracted a pretty decent price from Ray Ray on the Mueller trade.

They haven't talked in about a week, not far apart but he said something like there are philosophical differences and talked about the system.

I came away thinking he meant Wood has no leverage so he doesn't understand why he is holding out. He said there really is nothing more to be said between the two camps.
