Why trade galchenyuk for a winger then play that winger at center when they could have just played galchenyuk at center which why they drafted him to be anyway?
- mr.peanut

Time will tell, but we had a good indication last night as to why he wasn't used as a center: most used forward, -2, no shots, 2 turnovers, and if i remember no body check as well. Way too early but you see tendencies which are habits.

I guess they'd rather have a winger play center than a drunk centre?
- Scabeh

Is calling him a drunk a part of the typical post-departure smear campaign against a former player?

Oh please.

Galchenyuk is a very talented player but it's been mentionned numerous times he had ALOT of fun while in Montreal.

I hope he does well in Arizona, if he starts focusing on hockey, he's obviously the better player between him and Domi.

Was his 30 goal season at center an indicator or is just 1 preseason game good enough?

J'ai demandé à mon chum anglophone si y pensait que Kotkaniemi faisait le club.

Everyone knew, but all of a sudden was a huge issue the second he got traded.

His 30 goal season at centre was before his problems started.

He could very easily go back to scoring 30 goals.... if he acts like a god damn professional.

You asked why they'd rather have Domi there than Galchenyuk.

It's been an issue for 2 years now.

They had enough.

I'm not saying it was the right call, or that it was the best trade for the Habs or even that the chosen solution makes sense.

But it's why they did it.

Like you said, it was one season out of 6 and after that he wasn't able to reach 20...so which indicator is better? He could end up scoring 25 this year having 19 mins a game of playing time. Will he ever be responsible defensively? Or at least enough to be a legitimate center? I don't think but wish him the best.

(frank) ya...

With the fact they will push to have Shaw in the line up as soon as cleared ( I mean he CJ and MB type of player) why in the hell did we sign plek again...

Right now there not really a decent place in that line up for Hudon or even Sherback...

I undsrstand that being the difference between wanting the 2 for off ice reasons.

But on this ice neither are drunk, so what's this obsession with playing wingers at C when they had a center they refused to play on the wing.

And it seems that letting a young run wild for 6 years then say we can't do anything is also poor management

Both players needed a fresh start (Domi and Chucky). It's a gamble for both teams.

Except that one season at C was his one true shot. Last season, claude's staunch refusal to play ag at center was ridiculous
