Came here to say what Coga already did.

Wouldn't be shocked at all if he became the Red Wings GM. He still has plenty more in the tank and was one of the league's very best up until today, but commuting across half the country to work is an absurd proposition. Detroit would be dumb not to kick the tires on Steve.

"When compared to the mess Ken Holland has created in Detroit there is nothing appealing about going back to the city that Yzerman played for."

Because Detroit's current group of players under the age of 23, to go with a 2019 lottery pick, is really an impossible starting point for anybody to help straighten things out.

The Wings wouldn't know anything about numerous top 3 picks in that regard (unlike the Pens & Hawks), but with 2 lottery picks in a row, it's a good place to start, no? Especially with having nothing that has resembled a defense since #5 retired.

He should suit up for the Red Wings. They need 1 good player atleast.

I'd hasten a guess & say there's been an issue at home. With Tampa 1 of the favourites to win again this season I'm sure he would have liked to see his contract out & hopefully (for them ), lift Stanley.

I hope I'm wrong.

And what was "Appealing" for Mario to save the Penguins years ago, exactly?

I really wish JR “stepped down”, and Botterill took over as our GM

I'm glad he didn't. Personally really like what Botts has done here in Buffalo. He had a lot to clean up after Murray, and I think he did a pretty damn good job.

I am hoping the next wave of prospects start to make their impact on the Sabres. At the very least, Rochester will be better and the Sabres will improve. A realistic timeline is one more year to be a consistent playoff team, and probably two to three to make some real noise come Conference Championship time. Having three first round picks this year will help huge!

So, yeah, I'm happy we got Botts and not JR.

P.S. No offense, but what is up with your prospect pool. I thought JR did better with his drafts than how they performed at the prospects challenge.

Uhmmm, The fact that the bankrupt team owed him a $hit ton of money and that was Mario's best way to recoup those dollars

I went through every interview and the D-corps guys are happy to have Jacko. Letang, Dumoulin and Schultz called him a "very good player", "huge addition".
I'll trust their judgment and keep a wait and see approach in regards to the haters.

Well I suppose they're not going to say they hated the move.

But yes, I'd listen to the players that have played against him rather than some Nevilles on the Internet that think they know!

We're two. (but i also understand those being sceptical - 12 years are 12 years...)

The sad truth... just show me one interview stating a player who didn't praise a recent acquisition... , especially in US when something is not "great and fantastic and exciting" it must be really... yeah.

Haha no offence taken at all man. The Pens prospect pool was actually ranked dead last, or around dead last, for almost a decade now. This year it's ranked around 26th I believe.

Has anyone seen this cartoon that is making headlines?

Does anyone think it's sexist & racist?

https://www.news.com.au/s...1e7d8d96ed9c0f5b625e2afd4

I personally think Williams should apologise to everyone for her deplorable behaviour & especially to Ramos & Osaka! I do hope the umpires refuse to referee Williams games until she apologises.
