Stop saying Marner is a top winger when he has not proved it yet. I think he is going to be but right now he just isn't. I get he is your favorite player and you have his face tattooed on your lower back (M&M Tramp stamp... Cool) but he isn't that good yet. My favorite player is Jordan Staal but I don't rank him near the top of the best center's list because I can tell a difference between feelings and facts un like you. |

I think those list were voted on by fans, weren't they? A lot of fans, like you, have ridiculous opinions, which they, again, like you, think is the only right opinion.

But he is young and COULD become great!
Oh wait...no one mentions Nico Hischier, he is young and had a nice rookie season and didn't have to be sent back to Juniors to gain 30 lbs to become the size of a 14 year old girl. The potential is there with him, but he played with Taylor Hall so check him off the list.
...but oh yeah rules are different with everyone. |

“If you scroll way down you’ll find OEL at number 15 on the list. This means that the NHL network underatese OEL to the same degree that Drew Doughty underrates the importance of dentistry.” WTF does this mean? “Underatese?” Is that the laguage they speak in Underratia? What does dentistry have to do with anything? Ow, my head hurts now after suffering through this one. |

Statistically, Marner was a top winger last year, and he's even better if you watch him.
He was 39th out of all forwards and was a top twenty scorer among wingers. Other than Marchand, he had less ice time than every player above him too.
So it's pretty obvious Mitch Marner is a top 20 winger because not every player above him was a positive possession player like he was. |

So basically, Mr. Tanner is upset that Jake Gardiner did not make the top 20 list for defenseman.
Drew Doughty has been one of the top defenseman in the league if not the best defenseman in the league since about his 2nd or 3rd year in the league. |

It's obvious to you since you are in love with him, but not to most other people that wouldn't put him and Matthews at the top of every single list like you do. There are really good players but not on the same level as Sid, Ovi, or McJesus. They might not ever get there but I think they have a shot. |

Exactly! If they don't play for a team he likes they don't matter. It's sad for Yotes fan's (Caps fans for a bit too) on here for each blog about their team to have to mention a Leaf's player like they are the top team in the NHL that everyone is chasing. |

Gardiner >>>>>>> Doughty.
If you can't see that, you're probably just wasting your time watching hockey games, basing your misguided opinion on experience you've had observing and playing hockey for years, and being mislead by the reputations that both players have built up by playing in the league over the years.
Something something confirmation bias something... |

I get that there's not much to write about in the summer, but it sure is weird that bloggers who are constantly making these silly lists are complaining about a silly list.
Have you read the opinions of anyone else when you do your top five lists? They're all over the place. I don't know why you expect someone else to be able to create a list that people won't disagree with from top to bottom. |

His candid commentary is entertaining and

Can We make a James Tanner Drinking game? Everyone has to take a shot anytime he uses the word Corsi, makes out the Coyotes to be a top team or bring up the Larsson\Hall trade |
