Nice list, but I'd take Schenn off. What you just described from Evander Kane is the same for Schenn. Not saying he's a bad player, but I'd put Kane a notch above him. |

Schenn was almost always involved physically and was never a selfish player even when not scoring. Never seemed to have a bad demeanor on the ice as well, haven't watched Kane as closely but that seems to be the book on him at times. Schenn is a more complete player than Kane and has been more durable throughout his career. Flyers fans acted like we wouldn't need him or miss him, all he did was go and put up 70 points with the Blues, so save the Flyers hater bias in regards to Schenn. |

Again, I'm not saying he's a bad player. He's a good player. While you're right about durability, I think Kane offers more. Yes, Schenn hits, and sometimes he actually stays on his feet when he does it. Kane can hit too, harder, and is a better skater and passer. I think he has a big year this year with SJ.
FFS, if you're a Flyers fan who isn't bowing down to Brayden Schenn as a top-10 center, people just assume you're a hater. Dude's very good, not great. |

Come on man, Evander Kane has cracked 50 points twice, this past year and in 2012. He is inconsistent and often injured. Schenn was a force for the Blues this past year, there's a reason why Kane went for a conditional first when he was traded when people seemingly below his abilities fetched more. |

I know some Flyers fans aren't that high on Schenn but I think he is a great player. I would take him over Kane in a heartbeat especially after last season. Even taking away all of Kane's off-ice nonsense he still isn't better IMO. At 7Mil a year he is WAY overpaid for top line forward that hasn't broken 60 points in a season. |

I like these lists - good job!
I’d have Ekholm on there somewhere, and Kadri / O’Reilly belong ahead of Hoffman, but overall it’s pretty bang on

Interesting read for sure, but I would have Kadri ahead of Duchene. In fact I'd have Ellis and Schenn ahead too.
Top Three would be Tavares, Hedman, O'Reilly. |

decent list.
I'd personally have RoR and Kadri ahead of Hoffman.
the guy is a hell of a sniper, but all he is is speed and a good shot. he's not a good playmaker, is invisible in the defensive zone, and lacks consistency.
kadri and RoR are both pretty complete players.....they also score more goals than a guy who's just a goal scorer.
Hoffman should definitely be in the top 10, but I don't think ahead of those guys. |

I don't like your list ...Tavares step on the ice at age 18 and was a solid player year 1 and became a stud in year 2. It took Hedman almost 5yrs before he finally put up decents numbers
I will even go as far to say OEL is better...OEL has 2 20+goal season on the worst team we have seen since the Whalers...Hedman is a stud NOW but you switch Hedman with OEL and hands down OEL has better numbers in both situations.
and Hoffman better than Kadri??? Hoffman got traded for a 2nd & 3rd this year ...30 teams wouldn't pay a 1st for him...Kadri would land a 1st |

Hedman is overrated. Knocked off the puck like the little female dog he is. I have never went into watching a Pens Tampa game with Victor Hedman on my mind. |

I'm gonna disagree with you on the Hedman one. Hedman has put up 72 points in the past. OEL is certainly great, but Oel at 3 and Hedman at 1 isn't a huge gap to be honest. It's not like OEL was at like 10. Hedman I think is also more solid defensively. I will agree I'd rather have Kadri than Hoffman if I want the 30 goals, but Hoffman's had more points the last 3 seasons. Also it's the same as your OEL vs Hedman argument, Kadri gets to be the 3c behind some amazing players. Hofmann's linemates have obviously been decent too, but overall, he plays in Ottawa. Quality of team leaves a lot to be desired for him. I think his low price has more to do with his off ice issues. |
