Great deal I see 30 This yr, pretty easily ... kid is quick, smooth with sick hands and finish .... this is a steal and I believe he’ll still be rfa at the end of it ... 60 to 70 goals from Kase & Rakell for under 7 mil that’s insane cap mngmnt..

This guy is amazing and the Ducks found him in the 7th round. It's going to be risky only signing him to 3 years but a heck of a find and a nice contract for Anaheim.

Great deal for the Ducks. Will still be RFA at the end of the contract (arb eligible).

Now the question is where do you play him? He was effective playing with Henrique and Ritchie. This year Eaves is back, and Eaves had chemistry with Getzlaf. If Eaves plays on the top line, that bumps Perry. Do you mess with the Cogs, Kesler, Silf. line if all are healthy? That would force Perry to play with Henrique, which bumps Kase. No way Kase plays on the 4th line. Eaves may start on line 4, but I doubt he stays there if he can play at 100%. Interesting Ritchie hasn't signed, and Silfverberg hasn't been extended.

Time will tell.

I don't think Kesler will play much. Even if he does, that line just isn't the same. Break it up.

Good deal for both sides. I think a full year playing with Rico and Kase can put in around 25-30. The line was very streaky but was very dominant when everything clicked.

The one thing Murray did was add guys to attempt to roll all four lines. If Kesler indeed misses time, then you could have lines like this:

Rakell - Getzlaf -Eaves
Kase - Terry - Perry
Cogliano - Henrique - Silfverberg
Gibbons - Rowney - Ritchie

Now you could make the case where Steel plays if he lights up Camp. and Terry is moved to the wing.

If Kesler is around,

Rakell - Getzlaf -Eaves
Kase - Henrique - Perry
Cogliano - Kesler - Silfverberg
Gibbons - Rowney - Ritchie/Terry

(2nd and 3rd line can be switched around of course)

Doesnt seem like a bad rotation to go with.

Switch Perry and Silfverberg in the second group. I really hope the Ducks don't play Rowney at center. He's a terrible face off man, I'd much rather give Steel a long look. There are guys in San Diego like Kassila that deserve a shot at center, too. This is of course, Kesler's a no go.

No Rowney @ C ... he's awful there. Steel is going to make the team along with Terry- I think some of these signings were just for insurance in case Steel and Terry wet the bed which I don't see happening....
We need the injection of skill that both bring... I can live with the mistakes because the upside is so promising. I don't see Kes making a fully yr. That hip is just shot. Even if he plays his effectiveness is going to be really compromised. He wont play in the B2B or 3 in 4 night games. By midseason it should be pretty clear he's LTIR ...

Kase is RW. I get experimenting with him as LW, but I believe he's already stated he's not comfortable playing that side. That's why I asked where are we playing him.

What a great player, signed for an even better deal. Good on you guys. Wish we had more guys like Kase.

In Chicago we seem to be stuck in a pattern of depending upon way under performing "stars" (except for Kane), and a bunch of smurfs who couldn't win a puck or board battle if their life depended upon it.
