Amorosa seems like a better prospect than Drake, and the Phantoms seems a little short on LHD. So it's a bit surprising he hasn't been signed.

Can't go solely by collegiate point production, because that's only one area that's looked at. Amorosa has made significant strides in his game the last two years and has more natural offensive skill than Drake but Drake is better without the puck and a good skater for a 6-foot-6 defenseman.

I do think Amorosa is worthy of at least an AHL contract somewhere.

Re Drake and Amarosa: It's not like either is ever going to be an NHL regular so does it really matter?

I saw the word "Drake" in the headline and assumed there was a video here of someone doing the Keke Challenge.

If worst came to worst there are still guys they could bring in to fill the AHL defense if needed.

Ryan Sproul
Philip Sameulsson
Frank Corrado
Duncan Siemens
Viktor Svedberg

Guys you can take a flier on to fill in the AHL if you need more depth or fill a need.

Voracek 8th in assists and 15th in points. So overrated.

What does the NHL Network know?

WeLoveJorts has John Tavares as breakout player of the century with 342 points next year.

Do we know that he wasn't offered and AHL contract? Maybe he just declined and wants to look elsewhere after today.

If I were him, I'd see if there was any interest from Europe. His chances at making the NHL are pretty slim, so his best chance for a larger payday may be a European pro league.

Not especially, but it's nice if the Phantoms do well with as few journeyman vets as possible clogging up spots.

So I'd rather Amorosa get a 2 year ELC, than have Hextall sign another O'Neill type.

Yes, I think it matters.

Amorosa won’t be the last kid with potential that doesn’t get signed in the Flyers’ super stacked system. They need to be very careful to not let any really good late bloomers get away.
I love all the great tidbits Bill shares about the prospects. It is all about building a winning franchise including the AHL. So as the future NHL players develop they do it with the habit of winning.

I thought ELCs were 3 years strictly? Doesw that change a bit depending on where they come from?
