Oh wow, Tanner must have another light afternoon where he can post nonsense just to upset people on here so he can argue with them to kill time. Dude is such an AW... |

I may sound like a homer, but I don’t know how Pietrangelo doesn’t even get a mention here. He’s one of the best defensive-minded defensemen in the league. And up until this past season, when the Blues were terrible, his stats were nearly universally better than Subban’s. |

He’d be in the top ten for sure, but I just don’t think he’s top five. |

How so? Most of these lists treat defensemen like forwards. Who cares how many points they have? If I’m building a team of only players from the West, and I want increible defense, my top pair is Doughty and Pietrangelo all day, everyday. |

Can’t say there isn’t an argument for that.
IMO it’s OEL, Burns, Doughty, Subban and Klingberg. (Not in that order) |

Kinda ends up being subjective based off what stats/qualities someone values. I'd certainly take Pietrangelo over a few names noted here.
Ignoring age and contract, I'd probably go Doughty, OELand Klingberg as the top tier; Giordano, Pietrangelo the collection of Nashville Dmen (Subban, Josi and Ellis) in the next; and Lindholm and Vlasic rounding it out. Contentious opinion, but Burns doesn't even register on account of his poor defending despite favourable deployment. |

I agree. I think he's easily in the top 5 in the Western Conference. |
