Are the Flyers taking that crown with their young guns coming through now? Let's see if that turns into a Cup.

From everything I read I'm very impressed with him and wonder why he was still there for the Pens to move up and grab.

I'd guess a knee injury scared a few teams away.

Jan Drozg is going to be good.

I thought so too when we first got him but he hasn't been anything great so far. At least in the Pens prospects camp.

Here is a hockey player ladies and gents. Enough with this vanilla Bryan rust Conner Sheary brassard bs. Bring back players like Barnaby.

Lol Barnaby was a fun player to watch. A rat that could score occasionally just like Steve Downie.

I remember Jagr complaining about Barnaby being a distraction for the team with all the dumb penalty minutes he'd get lol...and Jagr was my favourite player but Barnaby was fun

We don't like to acknowledge this, but this is nearly a [half-]point for you! Yet, that time, everyone had a guy like him on the roster...

This is probably not a popular idea, but I think there’s sometimes a moment with prospects that you can miss.

They didn’t strike when the iron was hot with Sundqvist. I remember the stellar camp and pre-season he had and didn’t make the team. It’s also not like there wasn’t room on the 4th line.

They should have tried him that year. I’m not saying he still wouldn’t have fizzled, but I think that was the best time.

The Blues kindly did that for us... 42GP 1G 5A 6P earned him a +25k pay rise.

I will drink a Jagr'tea (jagertee: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagertee) to celebrate the best offensive-player in the combined 90ies&00ies... sad that #JagrWatch didn't pan out and we landed Iggy Pop instead ... cheers my dear Jaromir#68!, and greet me a few of the sweet Czech chicks...

It's not that they traded him, it's that they traded him and a last 1st for a bum in Ryan Reaves.

To be honest I wasn't even upset at losing Sunqvist all that much, but the russian kid st louis got at 31, Klostin? he seemed exciting.

Yeah I didn't care about Sundqvist, Reaves was just useless, even of Klostin doesn't pan out, I would have rather had him in the system than a year of some bum tough guy.

Which for (frank)s sake finds two extra gears this year...

a bum in Ryan Reaves.
- j.boyd919

As you know, regarding Reaves, it was communicated that Crosby/Letang/... "ordered" that protection, which as Ryan Wilson often pointed out, wasn't really one in the end...

Key? that's giving him a little too much credit I'd say. We ended up giving up cole, a goalie prospect, and a 1st round draft pick. At best Reaves was the 4th best asset we gave up, and it didn't even go to ottawa, it went to Vegas. Regardless if he was key or not, it likely remains Reaves could have been acquired for less. Even if we flipped him, doesn't mean the original trade was any less puzzling. I really didn't mind Reaves, I recall a few games where he picked up goals and had good checking, but he only played 10 minutes a night with the rest of the 4th line. I think that tired out the big guns quicker.

He was probably just a cap dump to fit Brassard in lol if he wasn't on the roster, probably wouldn't have had to give him up for Brass.

My thoughts exactly. I doubt Vegas specifically wanted Reaves or the deal wouldn't happen. Vegas probably just asked for a roster player and JR did his thing. The Brassard trade was a good one. He was playing great until his injury, and I hope he actually gets a chance here (preferably at 3c).

Indeed the 1/2-Brassard salary-retention by Vegas was basically enough to get them Reaves... (ok, there was Lindberg and a draft-exchange...)
