Scott Hartnell has 707 points in 1200 career games and Nick Shore has 53 points in 236 career games....I am missing your critique of Hartnell completely I guess! - RussH1964
Hartnell is 36, had 16 points last season and "dropped the gloves" three times last season (he got his ass handed to him three times is a better way of saying it):

Shore is 25 and is coming off a 19 point season. The idea of a PTO is to see if a guy has some upside and stick around.
This really shouldn't be that much of a debate on who to take a chance on. |

If you were to compare him to a player we all know, who would it be ?
Also, Nick Ritchie is still an RFA. I always loved him. As close to Maroon as you can get but I think faster. - Leniwm1
Nick Ritchie is the kind of physical player that does have a bunch of upside. Plays LW though and Anaheim would probably want too much in return for him. |

I was wondering who would be first to respond. God I loved that movie Airplane! - Crushers68
I thought I was the only one who remembered that it’s been so long. Great film. |

it's okay, before you know it zacha will be disappointing you. - Pomegrant
how has he not been a disappointment? I'm aware he's young, but you can't tell me you've been impressed or are even comfortable with his lack of development so far. Obviously he's young and can still improve.. |

Because the draft is hit or miss and our franchise the past ~10 years has been really bad at drafting. I don't see that as the player's fault, but rather the team's. Also, it's only been two years. There are a lot of really good players in this league that for the first handful of seasons didn't do that much because they need time to get it all together. Hindsight bias is something that sports fans just apparently don't know exists and would help a lot of people out in their every day lives. |

The guy was picked 6th overall but has shown us 60th overall performance so far. It's disappointing that his pre-NHL level of play hasn't yet matured into being as good comparatively in the NHL. That's not the team's fault. It's ok to be disappointed in a top 10 pick that so far is just a 3rd line player when not being carried by Hall. Again, disappointing *so far*. Hoping that changes this year. |

Read an article about devils picking up Nyquist from Detroit in another cap relief trade, thoughts? Is the like the goal scoring version of Johansson ? |

I would be interested. Fills that RW hole. Just depends on how terrible that contract we're taking back is and what we'd have to give. |

Saw a thing about Zetterberg where he was going to do a Hossa, so they probably won't need to trad anything anyway.
Wings cap situation is awful though. Adbelkader for five more years at 4.25 is so terrible. And DeKeyser for 5x4 what the hell is going on over there. |

The article mentioned Zett and said the NHL might not allow him to be put on LTIR because of the Hossa deal, basically it all smells fishy.
Wouldnt surpirse me if Detroit pressured Zett into not playing anymore so they can move on. |

The Hossa poop is such a farce. The guy later in life becomes allergic to specifically hockey equipment, but it's not bad enough until the exact year where he makes less money. And apparently they can't make equipment with different materials. uh huh, I believe all that. |
