I think the drug use is related to ptsd from being tied to a goal post and having pucks shot at you by your own teammates.

I blame stupid Hans for going back to the fatherland and abandoning Goldberg in his time of need.

Man, he's 39!?! He looks like he's in his late fifties/early sixties in that shot. If there ever was a poster child for "don't do drugs" this is it...

Hope he gets the help he needs (and that he actually wants it).

Hopefully his lawyers can work out a plea deal - no time in prison, in exchange for coaching a lovable bunch of scamps from District 5.

Sometimes I feel like a piece of poop for all the hard partying I did. Then I see poop like this and think at least I never did meth or opiates.

Not just your fault, the Pens gave us too much reasoning doing so!

While a "strange" Pens-blog, i kudos the message... don't throw your life away boyz, so much things to get into party-mode without that chemicals!

I also hope that he gets (and wants) the help he needs.

The police should also be looking for the people who kidnapped him, tied him up, and forced him to do meth the first time.

After a year of following a useless story(as it pertains to the Penguins or even the NHL)at the very least I expected some analytical data. No charts on interventions? No history of successful or failed attempts at getting your life back on track. I would think the relation of who is intervening could play a role...parent..sibling...spouse. This story leaves a lot to be desired for a hockey blog site.

Just have to tie him to a hockey net and shoot pucks at him. Instead of 39 secs like the movie it has to be for at least 7 days.

How do Yinz fell about the NHL Network’s ranking of the best centers right now list? They had McDavid 1, sid and geno at 2 & 3.

I'm a young guy. Sid is my Mario, the homer in me says Crosby (geez he's 31 today) is the best player right now. Although the consensus is that McDavid is the best player right now and ultimately, Sid is a 3 time champion, whether he's better than McDavid is meaningless. Glad Geno got some love though.

This is always such a weird argument because what do you base the best player on?

If we are looking at a pure individual ability? Then McDavid is probably the better player right now, but by a slim margin.

I wouldn’t throw personal accomplishment in there because McDavid hasn’t been around long enough.

Tavares should have been #6 IMO. I think he'll go down as one of the most underrated players ever. I think Stamkos is wayyyy further down than he should be. I'd have him at #5. I mean, dude is still over a point-per-game player and missed almost an entire season two years ago.

McKinnon had a great friggin season, but there's no way he should be #5; he's been a very good player his whole career and maybe he's finally made the leap to the next level, but I'm not ready to put him that high up after one crazy season.

Prior to this season, Stamkos was had a weird/rough prior two seasons and I feel it erased what had been a super impressive career. He seems to be an afterthought now. He's absolutely an elite player and along with Tavares, simply gets overlooked.

If I were making my list...

McDavid
Sid
Geno
Matthews
Stamkos
Tavares
Seguin
Bergeron
Scheifele
MacKinnon
