My Boy Boner is wicked smart....how did you liking owning that little biatch?

To bad he sits in an office all day thinking of wall paper patterns and not doing his (frank)ing job at all because he’s to busy posting paragraph long answers on the tendrils of what the Oilers could be. 😬🙄

Butt this is Hockeybuzz so carry on..🤪🤤

Well he is a student, and it is early August, so if he wants to take a day here and there’s to do (frank) all in the summer who are we to judge? I mean, Redmile is clearly not the brightest and he had all day to respond idiotically, so I imagine things are slow at the bottle depot he works at. Surprisingly , coming out of a long weekend.

Seems like an odd critique considering you have no idea what my line of employment is. Does it occur to you office worker types that not everyone has a 9-5?

By contending that Draisaitl saw "weaker competition" away from McDavid, you imply that he's worse for doing so but neglect to consider how your line of thinking is incongruous with reality. Not all teams are constructed or deployed the same after all.

McLellan typically avoids line-matching but favours a Power Vs Power approach with McDavid's line meaning he takes the role of playing top opposition (Backlund's role). Much like your third line (Bennett and Jankowski), Strome's line couldn't be counted on to play tough minutes against better players so his line ends up getting somewhat sheltered minutes.

Given your argument (which I believe to be fundamentally flawed anyway), this leaves the role of playing the opposition checking line to Draisaitl's line which- by your own admission- is the same role Monahan plays. Therefore, using the fact that Draisaitl plays easier competition while away from Connor when debating who is superior between Monahan and Draisaitl is pretty much irrelevant.

However to use your argument against you, Draisaitl's most frequent linemates when away from McDavid (about half his season minutes-wise) were Lucic, Caggiula, Cammalleri and Aberg. This means he took on the same minutes Monahan takes on but with FAR weaker linemates. Despite that, he still outproduced him at EV over the season.

So the oilers coach always gets whatever matchup he wants and other teams at home would just follow suit ? ...you’d think the oilers would be better in that case ....

People question his contract in the same way they question Tavares to the leafs, with jealousy. Draisaitl is a god damn beauty no doubt about it.

Well, I did mention that the argument was fundamentally flawed in the first place and it's precisely because arguing deployment is only relevant in the extremes. As neither are deployed in extremes, it's irrelevant.

Not flawed ....just not to your liking

Hopefully mcdavid misses 60 games so we can see Leon in a 1c role ...maybe he will prove me wrong ...maybe he will not be able to handle all the attention that Connor gets

On another note Connor healthy for 82 games...do you think he can get to 120 ?

No, the idea of making sweeping assumptions based off minor differences in deployment is flawed. In general, the competition seperate scoring lines see over 82 games is comparable due to how away games give the opposition more chances to choose who faces who.

While McLellan may favour a Power Vs Power method (because McDavid outscores just about everyone), many opposition coaches might prefer to get their power out against Draisaitl's line to exploit a line that often featured two bottom-6 level wingers. And that's the right approach. Over 41 away games, this'll likely lead to Drai seeing comparable time against high powered lines to what McDavid sees in the 41 home games.

As I mentioned earlier, only the extremes will offer any statistically significant differences. Part of why QOC has fallen by the wayside as a stat of value. But you know this. Hence why you used it in a weak attempt to critique my use of your argument.

Can he? Sure, he certainly has the talent, but I won’t say he will or won’t because so much has to do with luck and the play of his team mates.

This whole convo is hilarious. You keep tying this guy up knots but he keeps squirming and talking his way in deeper, even when your shaft is half way in with no lube.
I’m guessing he likes it.
