I am told the frustration is really starting to mount in Tampa regarding a lack of "creativity or apparent willingness by Ottawa to get on with this deal.

Or maybe Ottawa doesn't want to settle for a cap dump and a pick, Tampa is probably just being stingy and won't give up Sergachev.

Sam Bennett on the trade block, EK you are smacking a hornets nest with this one. I brought up the idea of Calgary trading the under achiever in a recent Flames blog and the Calgary fans all went snakey on me. Better check underneath your seat before you start your car going forward.

Why doesn't anybody call about Brouwer?
You want potential... he could potentially do good on your team.

I think Dorion is tied up at Adult High School for the bulk of July and August, and has a lot of homework and assignments. With no one else in hockey ops, the fact this deal has stalled comes as no surprise.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Bennett get moved. I doubt the Bruins have any interest though.

To bad for Tampa, you don't get a generational talent for nothing. If they want Karlsson, they are going to have to pay up.

Or they can wait a year and possibly get him for nothing.

I talked to Stevie Y this morning, he said "I want generational talent, but for nothing. So since Erik has us as his only team then we will wait for the off-season, give him a boat filled with money and give nothing to Ottawa while making fart sounds".

One is Karlsson, one is Gardiner.

Guess.

BTW... Have you met my hat yet?

I can't see that happening to be honest, trading for him works out for Tampa because they can move money out to make room for him. Just trying to take on a Karlsson sized contract $11-$12 per season is basically impossible. Tampa will have enough cap trouble as is without adding in Karlsson.

I have a bucket filled with turds and a lone turd wearing a blue jersey, guess which one is Gardiner.

Both steaming piles of dog poop if you ask me!
But I wasn't the one that called either of them "Generational talent"

I'd rather pay $4.5mm than $11mm for dogpoop.

Just sayin.

Oddly enough Tampa has 3 defensemen coming off the books with a cap hit of 11.2M next off-season. A simple move of a forward of 4M+ to say someone like Arizona and they have enough cap space to fill in some holes AND have room for EK65.

Tampa is sitting in the driver's seat. Yes, they want EK this year, but next year works too.

The conditional pick turns into a 5th rounder if Panarin scores 80 points next year

You forgot to mention one will be inducted into the HOF while the other one will have the same amount of cups as the Leafs.

Tampa will be among the cup favourites regardless, and Ottawa's leverage is not going to increase as time goes on.
