^^This- what player can we poach for almost nothing to help TB get their guy? Would LOVE point but not realistic. - Revco38
yes yes yes. Who knows better than how to get fleeced cuz the Cap Grim Reaper is breathing down your neck than ole Stanley? Big chance to add to the rebuild with this cap space.
A 1st for Miller would be fine. Taylor Raddysh and Stralman for ? Wanna move a Stralman a Raddysh has to be added. Many of their prospects are older. Some unsigned FA.

With a full roster the Hawks have about $5.2 million in cap space. This is a weird feeling...it's been so long since the Hawks had cap space. |

Forsberg dropped to AHL, did he clear waivers? Per Capfriendly - riozzo
I am not expert, but that might have simply been a reorganization with only two goalies on the parent club, and not using his Cap hit in the figures for the newest cap space numbers.
I don't thin k he would have to pass through waivers until the days right before the season starts and you have to trim the rosters and leave open guys you actually want to send down open for claim.
I suspect he will stay up during the year if there is any inkling that CC is having a back step...
Sign me up on JT Miller too...lhe is 25, and signed long term he could help the hawks as a centre or wing, and he signed a decent number at $5,250,000 that it could be managed.
And who knows how far South the Trouba negotiations will go after arbitration...
I love the idea on Pacioretty for a contract like Seabrooks would have to go North to be able to keep him and don't know if I would want to sign him for more than an additional four years...and the thing about Pacioretty and Skinner, they have had a bunch of concussions...so you wonder. |

That site is awesome but by no means official. They may have just assumed the Hawks won't carry 3 goalies. |

I asked them and got this response:
Those are roster predictions on our part. If we were to leave every waivers required player in the majors during the off-season, the numbers wouldn't be representative whatsoever of where the team will be at season start |

Another angle we could be looking at...did the Hawks clear space to do an offer sheet on anyone? - breadbag

For any familiar with this procedure, there is no way Kruger is in the lineup any sooner than mid-year, if ever. I'd expect him to be placed on LTIR day 2 of the season. - savvyone-1
I just ran across this article, dated May 4, stating he had the surgery the prior month: https://www.tsn.ca/coyote...h-sports-hernia-1.1076048
Given what you know about the injury, what does his timetable look like after an April surgery? |

From the Hawks broken record department, we made a big trade to reacquire a familiar face.
Almost predictable.

Another major mistake trading Hinostroza. Huge mistake. - Savoy
How? What is Hinostroza's ceiling?
he won't be a fourth line player in the NHL. Sikura has more upside to play third line. Ejdsell showed a lot of promise in the playoffs for Rockford and if he can he a beast of a winger that is hard to handle, creates play, and a nasty shot, he is the better player over Hino eight days a week
The best you hope for is Hinostroza MAYBE turns into a 40 point bottom 6 player
Ejdsell and Sikura could likely hit those production numbers sooner and easier
Besides, Edjsell is the type of player you want come playoff time, not Hinostroza |

Depends on what type of surgery he had:
Sports hernia recovery time
About 90% of athletes who have surgery for a sports hernia are able to return to competition at the same level or higher to where they were prior to their injury. The timing of return to competition for laparoscopic surgery is typically within 6 weeks while for open surgery it is usually a few months to as long as 6 months. |

I 100% believe they expect Kruger to be on the roster and playing. He had surgery 2 weeks ago, so unless this is the dark ages, he is probably recovered in the next 4-8 weeks. |

Oh? 30 years old and 5.5 million is a smart move in your opinion for a third line player? |

I say this is optimistic BS.
Had one of my young teammates go through this and it took him about 3 months (so double what they say) to get back on the ice and 6 months (no description from them on returning to "normal") before feeling and looking fully healed.
Maybe Kruger is 100% by end of October/early November. |

Worth noting that the cap space the Hawks now have is $20k short of Justin Faulk's AAV.
May be nothing, but interesting. |
