While he would be the best forward by a mile, I wouldn't give up Keller even if he agreed to an extension. The Jackets are up against it here, and you know they don't want to end up like the Islanders (sorry Isles fans, no offense meant). Given that, teams know this and are going to try and give 50 cents on the dollar if he won't sign, and maybe 80 cents if he will.
You could start a package around Strome, Perlini and a pick, but I'm not including Keller or Chychrun in this. Given that the Columbus GM is fairly good in his own right, I see this as a non-starter for Jarmo and we can't mortgage our future for maybe one year of the Bread man.... |

gotta think some salary would have to go.
strome, panik, 1st and a 2nd? idk, seems like a really bad trade for one-year of panarin.
he probably bolts for the rangers next year. |

I hear what you're saying, but the odds of anyone like Keller, Strome or Chychrun coming even close to Panarin's level are pretty remote. He would pretty much be the best player in franchise history the second they acquired him. I don't want to trade Keller , at all. But if you're given the opportunity to add a top 10 player, you gotta do it. |

Remember when I said strome is a bust and you heard it hear first?
Now it’s too late. Cat has exited the satchel. Strome is a poor man’s yakopov. |

He doesn't want to go to ARZ, he wants a big market, New York, LA, Toronto, Chicago, etc. |

you can't throw strome or chychrun away at a one year player.
and keller for panarin just doesn't make sense in a cap league.
if you want a one year player that might stay, try zucarello. continue to become the rangers of the southwest. |

Hasn't panarin stated that he wants to play in a big city/market? Why trade for him just so he can sign elsewhere after season?
Are the Coyotes a cup favorite this year? |

No, Arizona has plans to become a big city/market. Panarin is phase one. Phase two is to double the city's population through witchcraft. Then comes the PR push labelling Arizona as "Hockeytowndesertplace". Then you'll all be sorry.

Geez. Alot for the Yotes to give up for a guy who might not stay. I could only see those packages if, If they are allowed to get a contract extension done. Yotes do have a way to get players to stay. |

Coyotes GM doesn’t have the balls
To acquire a guy like panerin and give up what it would take imo |

He has not stated that. And the point would be to convince him to stay and/or sign him before you trade for him. |

As a Pens fan, I’d rather not see the Jackets trade Panarin and hope they lose him for nothing
Also, please don’t let the Bruins have him |

The Phoenix and surrounding areas actually is one of the biggest markets in the NHL. There is a reason they've worked so hard to keep the team there.

Arizona is a far superior place to live than Ohio, let's not kid ourselves. The guy is from Russia, so maybe he's just sick of winter. |

Population is ranked 11th in NHL, but that doesn't mean that Arizona is a "big" market in the NHL.
They rank 30th in attendance
They rank 31st in value (dead last)
What are YOU basing your comments on?
Have you been watching CNN again Tanner??
You have to be saying this for "clicks" |

I doubt he'd get traded before the season starts. Columbus has a team right now that can win a Cup next year if things go their way. They'll keep him at least until the trade deadline.
Sure, it would suck if they lost him for nothing, but if they're trading away their best player when they have the opportunity to win, what's even the point of having a franchise? |

"With Panarin, the Coyotes are a contender."
Goes from not being even close to making the playoffs 6 years in a row to contender by trading for one guy...
