LMAO so you are gonna pit 1 season of a rookie against everyone that has more seasons under their belt?? LMAO Ok if thats the case the Justin Holl is also a PPG player!!! 2 goals in 2GP....Geeze splittin hairs eh? |

I will give it a go then. We had a 20 year old rookie last season with more points than any leaf player has had for 20+ years! - Goislanders
... While playing sheltered minutes playing behind Tavares who faced a higher QoC.
Next season will be a massive test for Barzal. I’ll bet he doesn’t have as good a season when lining up against the opponents’ top lines.
Tavares took A LOT of heat off Barzal and he’ll miss that.
Bailey and Lee will regress too, big time.
Try again. |

Oh gotcha. Maybe state you were talking about careers than.
That being said. Mats Sundin was a PPG player throughout his career.
But whatever this whole argument is stupid. |

I know it's a stretch, but people seem underestimate the stats that Barzal put up. Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin og McDavid are the only other players to put up a PPG in their rookie season (+10games). That's pretty decent company.

You wanna talk about trolling?? I'll chirp ya all season son. And your "zero cups in my lifetime" dig is tired and old. Come up with something better.
Here I'll get ya started:
-NYI have more cups then the Lea......wait no that won't work
-NYI has a better ownersh..........wait no that won't work either
-NYI has great ice!.........wait that won't work either......
Thinking........
......
..........
-We stole your GM!!! <-----there ya go....run with that - tornayle
Talk to me when u win a cup when there is more teams than a Bar league.

I only looked at active players. My point is that there's only 8 PPG currently in the NHL. It's a very rare thing and I believe Barzal will stay there throughout his career |

I truly can care less if Tavares left. Doesn't bother me at all. What is bothering me is that he left to go on a pathetic leaf club that has done absolutely nothing. they are not even worth noting. team has not won a cup in my lifetime. i have seen my team win the cup multiple times. Team has not won a round since 04. real impressive. team is pure trash. 67 67 67 67 forever. Joke - Hockeyislife
yes, 1967 has lots to do with 2018 Leafs....I'll get you some cheese. |

Wow, all these Toronto fans are acting like he is the second coming of Christ. He just went into probably the toughest place to play with all the expectations Toronto fans and media is going to put on him. He is a good player but he will likely fail from the expectations, my bet is his will miss the anonymity he had on the Island. |

Not at all, we are defending our new player from all these harsh or straight up dumb comments islander fans are throwing around since he didn't sign with them. And they retaliate by mentioning 1967 like it's some big insult we don't deal with hearing on almost a daily basis.
And about pressure, the guy had pressure on him his whole life growing up always being the best in his league. All the way until the NHL. He's already dealt with a great deal of it and it never seemed to phase his play on the ice. So I'm not worried whatsoever and im sure he isn't either |

I really don't care what any NYI fan thinks about JT leaving for Toronto.
The fact of the matter is JT knew from the beginning that he wanted to be a leaf and the only way he would have remained an Islander was if Toronto for whatever reason didn't offer him a contract. And even then I'm not so sure he wouldn't have gone west.
Get over it. - HellsBells
Goes to show you what kind of character he is.. Never mans up and tells the Islanders he is leaving,,,,SELFISH... |
