Silly Season topic....Patches for Gudas +
JVR-Giroux-TK
Patches - Coots -Jake
Lind-Patrick-Simmonds
Raffl-Laughton-Weal
ONE year for Giroux at C until a prospect is ready.
Would you? - juiced
Can we please stop with the G back to center crap. You all realize G and Coots were money last year. Why do you want to (frank) with a good thing?
G-Coots-TK or Jake
JvR- Patrick - Jake or TK
Lindblom-Laughton-Simmer
Either way that is two lines that can produce. And possibly a third if Lindblom and Laughts find their way. |

Understand the concern. I have confidence that Coots could play with other talent as well. Only way Id make the move is if we had basically 2 first lines. In this scenario we would.
Besides, patches is UFA next year and the Habs have to be desperate for some D help with Weber going down. . I look at it as a way of killing 2 birds with one stone. offload Gudas....and allow us to roll 3 a 1a line, 1b line, solid 3rd line and finally a decent 4th line.

Except everyone tells you why moving G back to center makes little sense, you eventually go away, then bring it up again a few days later. That isn't debate. - hereticpride
I don’t care what the rest of the sheep say. I’m not a follower. Nothing about next season is writen stone and I’ve given many examples as to how it’s possible why G could go back to center. You simply say “rest of the group says it won’t happen, so it won’t”. How well thought out of you. |

Martin St. Louis, for another season (98/99). After that, it's Rafalski, although he spent some time overseas after his college days. |

You're right, nothing is written in stone.
Our goaltending issues will be resolves, as Claude Giroux will be our opening night starter in net. Taking his place on the wing will be, finally, Shayne Gostisbehere.
If you disagree, you're all sheep!!! |

Gudas + for Patches? That's gotta be a huge +
And yeah, not getting into the G back to Center argument again. The guy put up career numbers last year and nearly took the league scoring title. There is no argument based in reason to move him back to center at this point in time. |

Guys, I’m giving my opinion of what I would do with our current thin crop of centers. I would have G go back center.
A) Filppula isn’t here to replace Couturier or Patrick if either player gets hurt.
B) Whether it not Frost is ready, we currently cannot put all our hopes into believing he’ll make the same jump as Konecny did. Konecny is a winger.
C) Is G playing wing the best thing for Giroux or the Team? He put up 102 points. That’s amazing. I doubt he’ll do it again but we can hope or maybe he will but will the team be balanced enough for him to play wing? We brought JvR in. JvR as numbrr one LW isn’t a terrible thing.
D) Briere, Carter, Richards were all first line centers at one time when they played here. The three lines worked. All dangerous. When Giroux came in, one was moved to winger. We aren’t this deep.
I apologize now if my thoughts and opinion, threaten your thoughts and opinions. |

Didn't even bother with the rest of this. Your first point in your reasoning for pulling a 100+ player out of his current position is Laughton replacing Filppula on the 3rd line.
I mean come the (frank) on dude. |

Agreed. Unless it's an emergency situation G will be staying on the wing. Plus the chemistry G and coots havw will only grow as the seasons progress!
Face it... G is a winger now and a damn good one! |
