I'd rather have a good rivalry, not this one's up, the other's down nonsense.

That trade continues to pay dividends for the Habs

Shrewd move by Bergy

This just has to be more incentive for the Canadiens to just blow it up.

If they do, it has to start with Price. Only because he is good enough that I could see him stealing them too many games and costing them draft position.

Who's going to take that contract? How much is Montreal retaining?

They don't need to retain anything but his injury will delay a trade. He'll get traded at the deadline. He'd be great in blue and white

That PK for Weber trade looks better by the day...for Nashville that is.

Unless Weber retires then Nashville will be on the hook for his cap hit
because of the recapture penalty.

Eklund broke this before Shea Weber even knew about it.
- Ol_Boy_Wop

If what you wrote is true, Ek is in big trouble.

Ek just violated the Canada Patient Privacy and Confidentiality Act, 2005.

If found guilty, Ek may face the maximum penalty under Canadian law:

Apologize and buy Weber a beer and poutine. Or maybe shovel his driveway.

If I'm not mistaken the longer he waits to retire, the more they get bent.

what is it with Montreal and making poor life choices when it comes to GMs,
can't they just hire one normal guy, your average joe. The one that doesnt get rid of star players, doesnt reach in drafts, doesnt get rid of top prospects for players that other teams want to get rid of.

everytime I hear that a montreal GM has done something, I prepare for the worst and yet, am still shocked that they manage to do even worst than I had imagined.

True, but LTR only takes effect the first game fo the season, so they will be over the cap int he summer an unable to sign players (unless they also wish to pay the fines for going over the cap).

There are repercussions, on some level.

They would need a legit medical reason to get around that. If not they better hope he's A) still useful to his team B) Avoids retiring which might be tempting considering his actual pay falls to only 1 million in his last 3 seasons.

Shea didn't leave on good terms with Nashville so he may want to stick it to them.
