Boqvist, Seabrook, Hossas contract, conditional 2019 3rd (it becomes a 1st if he resigns with us or we win the Stanley cup)

Karlsson, 2019 7th

Senators want to shed money, they are not taking Seabrook back. If there is any deal with the Hawks to be made, neither Ryan or Boqvist will be part of it. Ottawa doesn't have a 1st rounder next year (and that should be a good one!), moving Hossa's contract actually helps both teams and they could try to unload Zack Smith to Chicago. Jokiharju is the next best prospect Hawks have, so something around this:

Karlsson, Smith for Hossa, Jokiharju, 1st, Murphy, rights to Nalimov

Ottawa probably has better offers. And who to pair with Karlsson, Keith? Gus?

I understand it was a bit ridiculous, my point (no pun intended) was just that if I'm the Rangers, and I'm the conduit that is needed for a team to become a theoretical super team, in my conference, that I've lost pretty much every trade I've ever made with them, this one time, I'm getting something really good out of it! These opportunities don't always present themselves.

Jeez, you guys, (and lady on a 5 day weekend), take everything so literal.

Completely agree, still waiting for them to announce the trade, i guess some of the players phones must not be working?

No one is taking Seabrook . Except the Oilers straight up for Lucic. Im cool with that . No one else seems to be.

If the trade happens which it won't, pairing Karlsson with Gus would be a bad move...the equivalent of playing with 5 forwards. The last man back would the F3 in the high slot. However, Keith would be a great pairing, possibly best in NHL, despite Keith's mileage. Remember the top pair in the Olympics for Team Canada which Babcock was dead-set on a righty/lefty combo was Doughty/Keith.
