It's pretty clear GMGM stuck to a number when it came to years and Perron/Neal wanted more. Which they got. Normally it's about money but now its becoming about years.

Wasn't really a huge Neal guy and havent ever really been. Guy really doesn't do much aside from scoring and when he isn't, he's basically useless. Perron I liked a little more but it is what is it.

Tatar is gonna have to step up and help replace the scoring from Neal. Which he can do, being a 20 goal scorer the last 4 seasons. Stastny hopefully stays healthy and replaces Perron's playmaking ability.

Sheng, thoughts on Erik Karlsson? You think GMGM pulls the trigger? If so what's the most likely package going back to the Sens?

Perron "Lots of Assists = Playmaker"

Guy led the league in secondary assists as a % of on ice goals by a record margin

Neal - Hot start then became invisible for the last 60 games including playoffs

I expected Vegas to be more aggressive in Free Agency due to their cap space. Tatar will put up some points but that deal is still terrible for the "GM of the Year"

He can only step up if the idiot of a coach puts him in a position to succeed.

Might be the case, but he was also part of a very high percentile for shot assists. Likely an aberration, but we'll see.

Do you buy the legitimacy of the stat? I don't yet. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of the inputs are things that we're still not clear on how to judge, like defense.

I do buy it because my eye test generally matches what WAR states.
