I'm really hoping one of the sections at the arena is dedicated to the Rasmoose, the official mascot of the Rasmi. - Hexen

We’ve already got what the majority of NHL teams don’t have. A star centre and a real deal number 1 defenseman. |

Yeah I just think he's playing above where he should be, much like Justin Schultz did in EDM. He's just being asked to do to much and it shows. I think he'd be fine on the 2nd pairing. |

I don't think he's a god, I think before last year he was definitely a top 15 d-man in the league and every piece of information backs that up, last year was "rough" but I don't think it was as bad as people make it out to be. He definitely had some individual blunders though. Top 3 is easily Karlsson, Hedman, and Doughty but Letang is definitely in that next tier with Carlson, Burns, Subban, Ghost, Klingberg, and all of those guys. |

By "pulling Risto off the market"? That makes zero sense. Sabres finally doing it right on defense. |

Sabres Pull Ristolainen Off Market
I am told they are completely underwhelmed with the offers and feel they would rather a pair of killer Rasmus (Rasmusses or Rasmi?) on the blue line... - HockeyBuzz
I am shocked the sabres would not want to go into the season with Zach Bogosian as their number 1 RD
just shocked |

Who’s the real deal 1 dman you have. If your referring to your pick i would wait on declaring that. Hasn’t even played a game yet. I think most teams have a true number 1 dman and 1 center ... except Montreal |

That's exactly my point though. He plays what... 3-5 minutes of PP time a game? What about the 25 minutes at 5v5 he plays? hahaha Is he really a big dumpster fire in his own zone? I wonder if his 5v5 minutes were reduced a bit if you would see a more well rounded player. I feel like if he was paired with a decent stay at home defensemen (ala Ian Cole a few years ago with Schultz) on the 2nd pairing, I think the perception on him might change a bit. If he was getting like.. 13-15 minutes at 5v5 and 3-5 on the PP, I bet having a smaller burden would do wonders for the dude. |

This is something pretty much everyone agrees on. Risto shouldn't play the minutes he does, but there weren't any other defensemen on the roster that could. Hopefully this year they can even out the playing time a little more and he'll play a better overall game. |

How the h E L L can anyone really evaluate Risto when he plays behind the WORST team D in the league... Don't you think that if he played for Pitts he would flourish?

Not in a number 1 role. I think he'd be a solid 2nd pairing defenseman with top PP minutes. |

Come on man. Take off the “homer” glasses
Letang WAS that good,
but not even close since the injuries
And at 7.5mil...
Pitt would move him in a heartbeat if anyone would take that contract |

Homer glasses? You're retarded if you don't think Letang is in that tier of defensemen.

I wouldn't mind it if he got traded. I feel I am one of the few Sabre fans that don't believe in Risto. He is terrible in his own zone. He is above average offensively but it doesn't make up for his defensive play. Too many times have I seen him looking around stupefied that the puck is in his net. Maybe if he was bottom pairing I would be OK with him. The Sabres probably have to keep him though since there is nobody else on the roster. |
