Think Burnaby Joe would say yes to a deal for Shea Weber in exchange for Jost and Ottawa's #1 next year if offered by Bergevin? Maybe not after signing Cole, but what if they didn't get Cole, would you make that deal?

Avs nation values the Sens pick more than any asset right now beside nate the great. only hockey I’d trade it for is EK65

Not a chance in hell. Great player, but bad contract and he is on the wrong side of 30. Not to mention you may as well stop calling it "Ottawa's #1 next year" and start calling it Jack Hughes.

god no. The reason they got cole was insurance short term, not get older and hemmed in more with a longer contract like Weber.

RIP Yaks NHL Adventure. Wouldn't call it a "career". Hopefully the kid can regain form and confidence in KHL and give it another go in a few years.

This Duchene trade that Sakic pulled off may end up being one of the greatest. Ottawa seems handcuffed without their 1st round pick (which they really should have given to the Avs this year) and we come out with Girard. The D looks decent for the first time in years and can now either keep the pick or go after a top 4 D or top 6 F, maybe even a super star.
Looking forward to next season

hey yall remember when practically everyone was calling Joe Sakic an idiot and awful GM and that Super Joe was ruining this franchise he brought so much glory to?how he should have taken whatever silly deal that the Islanders were trying to push on him at the draft last year. and then the season starts and all the hockey pundits are spending all their resources roasting Sakic trying to get him to force his hand. meanwhile Cool Joe just kept his head. waited things out and got exactly what we wanted.
I think he's doing exactly that right now w the 1st round pick. he knows Dorian is a desperate idiot just like he was last time around and Joe's not going to give it up easily. I really hope Super Joe keeps the draft pick and uses it to get a quality player that can slot in the lineup right away. maybe you can use that as leverage to find something useful in a draft trade next year, like stay in the top 10 at least and grab a Center. but I have to be one of the few people thats not willing to light their hair on fire to get Karlsson. especially when you have Makarlsson coming into the league year after next

Seeing this list a part of me wishes the season would be over already. But with all these forwards we possibly could select do you think it was a mistake taking Kaut over Smith. With Smith being BPA and we needing left handed dmen, I thought it would of been a good time to address our d depth even more, and focus on a forward next year. Still happy with Sauer-Kaut though.

You take the best available player on the board and the Avs probably found something special in Kaut. Just look at Rantanen and his progression...... Kaut will hopefully be a beast in 2-3 seasons. The Avs youth movement and future is looking BRIGHT!

Maker and Timmins are looking like legit D prospects and I think we've found a gem in Shane Bowers.

The Duchene trade will probably go down as one of the best trades we ever made and this includes the Bourque and Blake trades.
