Still would like to know what Lance Bouma did so wrong as a fourth line grinder? Dahlstrom and Edjsell, ......soft as putty! - wonthecup10
It’s not so much what he did wrong as it is the things that he didn’t do right....like be good at playing hockey. |

Of course not: GMs are out to save THEIR OWN jobs.
If there is a deal to be made with the Hawks that is GOOD FOR THEM, it will get made - helping Bowman keep his job (or hurting him) will be irrelevant. - StLBravesFan
Thank you!! Really getting sick of the rhetoric that other GM's won't deal with another because A) they are in a cap crunch B) they are in the same division C) their job is on the line D) etc... Its all bull crap. They will absolutely make a deal if it makes sense for their team. The purpose of a trade is to make your team better regardless if it make the other team better, same or worse. I can see a GM preferring not to make a trade within their own division or conference but if that is where the best deal is to be made you better believe it is happening!! |

Would you be okay if this was the top 6 d pairing opening night?
Keith - Faulk
Murphy - Manning -
Forsling - Seabs - SoftServe
I’d like to see something like:
Keith - Faulk
Gus - Murphy
Manning - Seabrook
But I’d have to imagine that the Hawks didn’t give Rutta that raise so he’d be an extra d-man, and he looked fine before going down with injuries and never being fully able to recover/bounce back when he returned.
Would imagine that if the Hawks do deal for Faulk, however, it would cost Murphy, Forsling, and a high draft pick. So Rutta would probably slot in with Manning, and Seabrook slides up to play with Gus.

I think so. Its a case similar to Varlarmov with the Avs. Charges dropped for whatever reason. How many people ripped Kane when the rape case came out? Charges dropped. Really in Kane's case, no charges were ever filed. - z1990z
I am not sure if there is a difference but the charges were not dropped, the case was dismissed. Again that just might be semantics but I believe that is what happened. |

My thought it Stan knows this team is going to be bad and has been trying to convince MCD, SR B, Wirtz and Q that we need to blow it up and keep Kane and anybody under 25. They powers to be Veto'd the ID and told him to sign some band aides. W - kmw4631
Based on current roster projections, the five oldest teams are:
1. Detroit
2. Los Angeles
3. NY Islanders
4. Minnesota
5. Chicago |

LBR - you are truly my fav poster these days. Your "I am not a brother" from a few posts ago made me chuckle for days. And I generally agree with your statements about the team so preach on sister! |

Or
Keith - Faulk
Murphy - Jokiharju (Kid impresses that much)
Manning - Seabs
Forsling AA 1st round pick for Faulk and a center? |

For the first time in 22 seasons coaching, his team finished below a .500 point percentage.
He won less than 40 games only four times: (I dont count his rookie year because he only coached 40 games)
1 - 1998-1999 when the Blues won 37 and went to round 2 of the playoffs.
2 - 2003-04 when he was fired after 61 games.
3 - 2012-13 when the Hawks won 36 out of 48 games and then won the Cup.
4 - 2016-17 which was basically the first time one of his teams truly did not succeed.
I'd like to see how he responds to his first really bad season as a coach. |

Yea, but you have to worry about Darling now. - powerenforcer
Actually I wouldn’t be surprised if Darling has a decent comeback year. I think last year was a big wake up call for him. Heard he started the season over weight and not in the best shape. |

That 3rd pairing could be dangerous. I'd love to see Forsling develop into the d-man we want him to , but I don't see that happening.
Keith - Faulk
Murphy - ???
Manning - Seabrook
I still think the team needs another top 4 d-man. Maybe one of the current guys can fill the void but that's a big ask. - DarthKane
Jokiharju impresses that much in camp??

LOL....I always knew you had a special talent. Hey our boy Bollus is a free agent next year.... - SteveRain
Ha Ha!
I heard the Bollus deal will be a 3-for-1:
Bollus
His chiropractor
His back surgeon
Blowman with the 3-for-1 package/3yrs, 10M with full NTC.
I'm expecting Blowman to survive post-Q BTW, McDonut/Rocky/Blunk will give him the chance to hire his own coach before he gets the heave-ho.
Re Bollus, there's a guy that really got overpaid.
Some have all the luck (although I wouldn't wish his back problems on anyone). |

I keep seeing Faulk in your lineups... What, exactly, are you giving up to get him?

You’ll take Hossa and Seabrook (have him play on the left) and you’ll like it. |

Gustav Forsling, Anisimov, 1st round pick ?? Faulk and AA nearly have identical cap hits. Maybe throw in a 3rd line center who can win draws if you have one lol. |

We aren't giving up anything, as it can no longer happen.
I've instructed Stan he no longer is allowed to trade for players on teams who can't get ot the playoff themselves.
We already have a bunch of those |

Yeah, I’m sure Kane would love that. I’m also sure he wouldn’t demand to be traded either. |
