If NJ assembled a deal for Karlsson, I can almost guarantee Butcher is going the other way, not Severson.
At this point, Severson's only worth a 2nd round pick. He's not worth trading; the Devils need to up his value next season. He, rather, needs to up his own value.
edit: If the Sens are moving out Ryan, they probably need to take some salary back to get to the floor, so they might end up taking Severson if for that reason only should Shero be maneuvering something. |

Yakupov is gone - willschulme
The KHL is probably the best place for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he does well there.
I'd still like to see this team take a shot with Duclair. |

Im guessing it had to do with lack of interest more then not wanting to play in the best league in the world anymore. Edmonton really messed him up and if i remember correctly it was eakins who was supposed to be the next babcock in the eyes of leaf fans.... |

de Haan will be overpaid in both value and term by waiting this long, but I'm fine with it if it helps the defense core.
ALERT: Brian Gibbons signed in Anaheim. |

I don't know. Guys that wait and aren't the marquee players of the free agency usually screw themselves.
It's still early, but another day or two and things usually get quite quit. Becomes mostly teams looking for some late depth.
On a side bar what happens with your 4th of July when it falls on the worse day of the week? Do you guys still get a long weekend somehow? |

He did well his first stint there, but then again he also had 31 points in 48 games that same year in the NHL.
The one poopty thing for him is Ilya isn't in SKA this year. I've always said he needed to learn from a proven sniper. With that being said he still will be playing with Datsyuk. Maybe Datsyuk wil take him under his wing |

I worked for a company that use to just work Canada day and then we'd just take either the Monday or Friday off. One person complained to the labor board and then we were (frank)ed and didn't get a long weekend unless you took the other two days off. |

How do the knights lose two of their best players for nothing and not as single person has stopped calling them contenders ??? |

They are faling back down to earth big time next year. I was a believer they would even if they kept the same roster now its gotten worse from what i can tell I just dont see it. Also curious if Fleury has cooled off or if he still has a full tank of gas that guy has some milage on him. |

Palms too low in that lineup IMO.
Most likely at least one or two young guys will end up on the team. McLeod, Anderson, etc.
I hope Bratt can solidify himself as a scoring winger but I have some doubts. |

Calling him a 13th is being very generous, don't you think? |

I think them and the Oilers are the two hardest teams to predict next year. Could see either contending or missing the playoffs by a wide margin. |

I agree. I do think Stastny is really going to help though. Was a real important signing, but even so the majority of that team had career years. Perron and Neal combined for 110 points and while I don't think Perron was going to hit those numbers that is still 110 points gone. Stastny will be good for half, but who's picking up the other half?
Who's also stepping up to make up for all the points they should lose just due to guys coming back down? Sure a few will probably put up similar or better stats, but not all |
