Boy for all of the hoopla earlier coming from the FO, one would expect we would have some of those promised “big moves” made.
Sure happy I dont have season tickets, and I am guessing even more holders will leave the bandwagon.
If anyone thinks adding another albatross deal like Karlsson is the right move, that would be the wrong move without being able to trade any of our current albatross deals.
We got more cap space this year, but so did everyone else, and in proportion, we still dont have enough.
So this season looks like the same team with the same holes with the same approach of revolving doors and pushing players up before they are ready. |

If NYI wanted AA what would the Hawks want in return? - mrpaulish
Pulock, young Dman who should move ahead of Leddy soon on the #1 PP. AA wouldn't be enough though IMO. Del Colle was a top 10 pick and is now 22 and a seeming bust. ..... Big fan of winger Beauvillier. Kid can scoot, dish, finish and ain't scared.
Lou is a vet at this stuff but wonder if he gets an itchy trigger finger now that Tavares is gone. Now he needs center help to go along with a #1 goalie. ..... Maybe a big trade out of NYI.
Who knows but Lou needs centers and the Hawks have AA at a reasonable 4.5 per for 3 more yrs.

Anisimov would have to have put the Islanders on his list of 10 teams. |

I will give the guy a break since its a new market but aside from Stastny, those guys are just a bunch of guys that are borderline NHL players. |

I prefer to look at the scoreboard. On a bright note, the guy that gets his ass kicked team has a slightly higher winning percentage than the winner.
fighting has no impact on what team wins. get over it. |

Pricey? JT apparently took a discount to go play for his hometown team. Mackenzie says the Shark's offer was $91M (7 x $13). So that's $14M left on the table. - RickJ
Apparently is the key word we don't know what the real offer was |

One of those benches will still lose the game.
A fight can’t “energize” both teams to victory.
And winnings games is still the NAME of the game - not winning fights or short term bench excitement. |

Brian Burke also said Tavares got a 13 million dollar offer. Why is that not a logical postulate? Toews/Kane got 10.5...3 years ago, so it stands to reason salaries would rise exponentially. Therefore, it appears Tavares absolutely took below market value, which will help his team build around him. Doughty just did an 11 million dollar deal and he is arguably the game's best D-men.
Which begs the question how did Toews and Kane get almost what these guys are getting 3 years ago? Tells me what I already knew...those guys got salaries that simply were too expensive. Today's market shows that. It's also part of the reason they are playing golf in May and not hockey. |

Be careful what you wish for. Remember this is Bowman you are having as your savior. I would rather have Bowman eat Hossa's contract than have him further destroy the Hawks with another deal like he did giving away TT, a 64 point talent, for nothing like he did except cap space. How can anyone imagine TT, a highly sought after first round pick that guys around here were thrilled that he dropped to us as a throw in for salary cap space. Eye popping unfreaking real. Now imagine losing ABD on a similar deal. |

Not sure. Cap space would be key, however they would need to replace AA's spot at Centre.
Cap space would be great if they can sign someone like Riley Nash.
Or maybe they look at taking back a more traditional 3rd/4th line centre in Casey Cizikas. |

Bonuses are paid 7/1. A lockout has/will never happen(ed) in the middle of the summer. Those bonuses get paid. |

“Highly sought after” does not exactly go with “18th overall pick”.
And remember supposed lack of dedication to an off-season regimen that would improve his strength and his game.
Bowman should have gotten more - but TT was no...uhhhh...Panarin, let’s say.... |

There is always a spin...Savoy's point is right. To give away talented resources to mask a previous mistake is why the Hawks are on the track they are on. |

The Penguins team has very underrated defenseman, one in particular, Dumoulin, shut down type of guy that Q wants. Of all the trades Bowman made the one that upsets me the most is Hjalmarsson - BetweenTheDots
And two of the major reasons why Dumoulin has improved immensely if that 1) he got an opportunity and made the most of it 2) he can skate with good edge-work
