I would agree here and that Nash may actually fulfill a 3C role with this team better than AA given the Hawks current makeup...and I like AA. - HawkintheD
Right D...the ONLY reason I'd swap out Nash for AA is if it allowed flexibility to upgrade elsewhere, but a straight 1 for 1...No |

That's a good point. We never get the team list info.
Why is it kept such a secret all the time? - Hank3Henshaw

So is Stone at OTT, I believe. |

Stan seems to have a long game in mind but if he thinks he could squeeze one last hurrah from the "current core" AA plus any D prospect not named Boqvist or Mitchell plus for 27 yr old ROR and his record setting FO won last yr and Hawks pay the bonus?
The swap would add 3 mil to the cap hit and give the Hawks their #2 C for 5 more yrs. As these signings go on ROR's cap hit looks more and more reasonable every day as does AA's. - Mr Ricochet
That would be a definite upgrade over AA, but they just can't afford to be giving up high draft picks with where this team is at

Wasn't Wilson a 1st round pick? What is the amount of the offer sheet?
That's a future killing offer sheet.
Sorry Mr. P.
I love him also

Big Wilson fan, but he's not an option and an offer sheet? Doubt that's even close to being in the cards. But a 2nd line of
Wilson/Schmaltz/Kane
does give me the warm and fuzzies. |

Tavares banter: As told last week, NYI offer was 8yrs/$88M. Possible that increased, but don't know. Rumblings over last 1-2 days had SJ offering 7yrs/$84M then upped it to 7/91. Again, only rumblings at this point. Tavares camp remains silent. TOR? TB? We'll see. |

Once it becomes official after 12 noon ET when it can be papered/signed, VGK deal with Paul Stastny is three years with an AAV of $6.5M. Stastny, BTW, is already in Vegas in anticipation of the completed deal. |

So AA submits his 10 teams, then the Hawks call these 10 teams? I'm really on the fence with this, solid value for a forward who can play all phases of the game except winning face offs. |

Think interested teams have already been in touch with the Hawks too. Has been out there that AA may be available... |

If this is true, WOW, Bolts definitely out, and Toronto would be crazy with all that young budding talent on that roster. SJ won't have any flexibility if that's the deal.

It really depends on what the agenda is. I doubt Bowman is just dumping him to be dumping him but if he can add a Top 4 D man with the new found flexibility and still get a L3-C (which is all AA is anyway) who can maybe even win faceoffs then the net gain could be positive. |

I like AA and don’t think he’s as horrid on draws as often characterized here. I do think if the plan is to play Schmaltz at 2C, and they can trade AA straight up or as part of a package that lands you a top 6 wing or top 4 dman, I don’t think that would be so bad...depending on who and if they are able to maybe backfill the 3C with someone like Nash. |

Been hearing all week a lot of moves would wait until Tavares decision "sets the market" for other deals. Just read report that is what's going on with Neal. I've reported him linked to Hawks for a week or so. Not betting on it happening, but as of last night, they were talking.

Saad - Toews - Simmonds???
Seems like that would be a good trade for AA? Seems like that would be better for the Hawks, but Hextall owes us one for that crazy Timmo trade.
Hawks save some salary, so maybe to even it out more, add a prospect and Hossa's salary? |
