Think the Oilers would be more inclined to add Seabrook now since Doughty is going to get 11m per ?

Would be nice. We can hope.........

Absolutely, and some here are saying give up a 1st to trade Hossa, then those same people will be furious if we win the draft lottery and Stan made that trade. There is no quick fix here

Agree. This is a time for patience, a long view and look for value.

Complete history revision. TALLON signed Hossa. Period. Tallon wanted BOTH Havlat and Hossa. And he ultimately chose the better guy.

It's funny, Bowman wasn't responsible for the missed offers to Versteeg and others, but somehow gets credit for something Dale Tallon did? Huh?

- kwolf68

Bowman does have obvious flaws. I believe separate fro Q. But some of Q's insane line up choices in the playoffs and his unwillingness to adjust mid game. Q always sticks with his plan even when its not working. Q's constantly playing Versteeg over other guys that were obviously better. Things like that.

Does not have to be Bowman v. Q.

I bet they get along just fine and are in constant communication.

To me it isn't Q v Bowman. Sometimes I think Q has a screw loose. IE, Vermette...Hawks in desperate need for D-minded faceoff winning center, Bowman gets Vermette and Q plays him at wing. There are plenty of other examples of Q tomfoolery and hi-jinx.

John Shannon ✅

On the Tavares front...Dialogue between CAA (in LA) and JT (in Toronto) continues. There has been continued talk with the 6 teams over the past 72 hours...as of 10:30 this morning some teams have been eliminated...but calls to those teams have yet to take place.

Daley and Kempny are other prime examples. I want a news writer to ask Q..."Hey Coach, Michael Kempny and Trevor Daley were routine scratches for you, but went on to help their next team win a Stanley Cup....WHY?"

Didn't it cost Detroit a 1st and 2nd round pick to move Datsyuk's dead salary to Coyotes? I know he wasn't on LTIR and the salary was higher, but it's not that easy to move these picks, especially the Hawks who have a very mediocre minor league system
- kwolf68

Detroit traded

Datsyuk + 16th overall pick

Detroit got

20th overall pick + 53rd overall pick + Joe Vitale

None of the mouthpieces current or old , Laz is a sissy, ugly tracey would never ever ask any real questions,

It would be nice to know. They let Q get away with his bs post game answers all the time.

#Leafs among the teams to express interest in centre Derek Ryan. They haven’t made a firm offer (hello, Tavares) but he’s sitting on multi-year offers from #Flames and a Central division team. Detroit and Columbus also believed to be in the mix.

“a central team” ?

I don't think NYI is out of it, they are just allowing him to test the market ala Tavares. They have some nice young Dmen in Pullock, Pelech along with Leddy and have 6 mil per tied up in Boychuk.

If it were me I would have resigned him awhile back but we are talking about the Snow GMed Isles. Would have thought Lou would have gotten that done before the price went up.

McKenzie reporting the AAV for Mike Green is 5.375m.

Does anyone else think that is totally insane?

How I want the Hawks to take no major part in the next 48 hrs of activity.

He really has done more than anyone thought he could do.

He's only been on the job for a couple weeks he;

1. Had probably one of the best drafts
2. Was able to hire a solid, SC winning coach

Not bad for two weeks. Not sure what more he could have been expected to do. By the time he was in the job, JT was already entertaining leaving.

Another great example how to manage the cap. Detroilet moves down 4 spots in the 1st rd, a 2nd rd pick and a B prospect!! No TT, no Johns to move dead salary.

Hope Rocky reads the newspapers. Stuff like this costs him money, fans in the seats, season ticket numbers, playoff gates. ....... I will continue to say the state the club is not Stan's or Q 's fault, it's Rocky's.

This ^.

Trade route, or bust.

I’ll be upset if Bowman decides to play in this high stakes poker match with other teams for overpriced free agents.

Count me as jealous, BIG time. Wahlstrom AND Dobson falls to him at 11 and 12!!! You kiddin me. It was said he was gonna move one of those picks but once he saw these two drop to him he said, I'm good thank you very very very much. And Bode Wilde in the 2nd rd and maybe the best goalie in the draft in Skerek in the 3rd rd! Yes, I'm very very jealous.

My point about waiting was on De Haan not Tavares. Mr P makes a solid point IMO why didn't the Isles sign De Haan themselves. I agree but in no way does that do anything to De Haan's value IMO.

Hi Wolf, love ya, but when Scotty came over from Detroit he backed Hossa so McD made Tallon sign him. So technically Tallon signed him, but he had and agreement with Havlat that he had to back out of. I'm more of a Dale guy, but I have to admit that the guys who say no Hossa no cups are much more right than wrong. Score one for Scotty there.

De Haan is doing the Happy Dance. I hope Rocky pulled the phone chords on every phone in the building and sent StanBow to a deserted island until FA is over.
