He should never sniff Chicago, welcome to Rockford to help out prospects.

How so?

I don't have the data and don't watch Jets much, but from what I remember, he seems to be much quicker going from left to right than the other way – and he seals the left post, plays a bit deeper and is always eager to slide to his right. Left handed goalies are more common and IIRC Sharpie had often problems finishing on the righties. Force of habit, I guess. But again, no hard evidence on my part, sorry

Yep. He’s also a 5’9” fourth liner. Would assume Rockford is re-stocking the cupboard in case some of the current fourth liners end up cracking the Hawks bottom line next season.

Stuff is happening.

JF Berube traded to Columbus for Jordan Schroeder.

- Justin Lowe

Isn't Schroeder like a 6th line type of player at this point?

Oh. No worries. I was just curious because to me it doesn't matter in hockey like it does in, say, baseball, where there can be multiple situations where the righty/lefty advantage can come into play.

Def agree about the force of habit, I suppose.

Yeah for a non physical player he has very little production to be a 4th liner. Ahl career minor leaguer.

Schroeder is an AHL/NHL tweener dude. He’s a center, but not a strong faceoff guy (46%) lifetime. 42 points in 165 NHL games. I’m sure he’ll play for the big club, but this is a move to deal Berube ahead of the Ward signing.

The way the off season is going I don't see any move that gets us back in the playoffs. Ca m Ward 2.8ga Goaile.

Maybe the Hawks feel Ward is a better positional goalie and does/plays the net the way the coaching staff wants them to.

Have to say really really really surprised Darling struggled like he did in Carolina

If i was going by pure stats might as well just roll with Forsberg

Great point.

Look at Crow...super robotic and "boring" but is technically sound. When you play that way, you don't rely as much on athleticism (Hasek, etc.), you rely on angles, positioning, etc.

-Not sure why I thought Bickell had 3 years left. My mistake! I completely understood your point, However I do feel that this is also a win for BUF, and at that price, Sheary is a nice addition. It seems like Jim Rutherford is clearing out to make some impact moves to compete NOW. * nudge & whisper "Stanley!.."

With the Schroeder trade, still curious as to why Stan wouldn't qualify Chaput after giving away Kero. Schroeder (will be) and Chaput (very much would have been) 2 nice pieces up the middle for Colliton and the Hogs' to mold and use.

Aside from being a pretty solid Center, I've read that he's a legit Captain and good community dude.

An expensive Rockford player, but at least we cleared off a goalie.
