I have no problem with Carter Hutton being the backup. It would give the Wild the chance to stash Stalock in Iowa. Get that one done.

As for trading Zucker or Dumba, I agree, the deals would have to be way lopsided towards the Wild to trade either of those 2. I might sound like a broken record, but I think the best trade assets the Wild have are Spurgeon and Granlund. Does a Granlund for Justin Faulk make sense with the idea that the Wild can use Spurgeon to bring in a scorer?

Carter Hutton is looking reportedly looking for a 3 year contract worth 3m a year. He wants a 1a/1b situation.

Every Leafs fan would love to forget the name Tom Kurvers.

Not sure if I'm a fan of moving Granlund. Yes, he's a grade trade chip, but he's also the most gifted playmaker on roster. I think a better option would be moving someone else to acquire a scorer to pair with Granlund.

I don't disagree. However, I can see a case being made to move Granlund but IMO the return would have to be pretty substantial as far as getting a true goal scorer. Granlund would be extremely valuable on the trade market.

I hear rumours of Spurgeon being available if a team takes Ennis too.

If so then here's my proposal. This is based on Washington and Pittsburgh getting nothing for cap dumps.

Leafs:
Spurgeon
Ennis
Staal

Wild:
Gardiner
Martin
2nd round pick

This is also based on Eric Staal being older. We can look at jager and Iginla and how they both dropped off tremendously after a decent year or two. Also before last year Staal wasn't doing so hot.

Now for being objective. The wild would get a better deal for Spurgeon trading him by himself.

The Leafs are trying to unload Bozak, with Matthews and Kadri down the middle, why would they want Staal?

Here's one for Vegas:

Zucker and Ennis for Tuch

That trade doesn't make any sense for the Wild. Give the Leafs a d they need, and our top c, and in return we get yet another left shot d, and a 4th line grinder? If anything happened with the Leafs, the return would need to be around Nylander and or Kapanen.
