I'm in love w this Grubauer signing. thats a big question mark thats been addressed and could be something that turns into a long term replacement to shore up the goaltending flaw. I think Varly responded well to have Bernier play so well and Grubs will do the same and we should get some dynamite goaltending no matter whos in net. and at a very reasonable cost too! no roster players and thus far it seems the management has resisted any roster turnover. granted its still early in the summertime but so far I think the Av's are doing a great job. I really wish when Sakic stepped up to the podium during the draft he woulda said something snarky in regards to all the haters about what a crappy GM he is. cause much like the turn around from that awful team, Sakic has really turned the corner as well

I didnt order a Landesdog, I wanted a "Mckitten"! Nathans brand of course.

And that, ladies and gentlemen is how Garth makes a living.

The biggest positive for Colorado happened as soon as Ottawa used their 1st round pick.

Not sure if anyone is reading this but joe did mess up one small part of the trade for our goalie. He should have made the trade then waited and traded Brooks Orpik back to Washington and only kept maybe half the salary. Instead with the buyout we keep more of the cost.

I think that might be against the CBA, a 3rd team would have to be involved, wash to col, they retain salary to new team, new team sends him back to Wash.

2.5m cap space, or retain half his salary at 2.75m....either or its basically the same result just 1.5m next season which you wouldn't even notice on a cap

Great little weekend from the Avs.

The Czech isnt who I thought they would go after but that draft board was wacky. The more interviews and numbers I cam across from the kid. Seems like a good pick, he was in the range where he was selected so Joe didnt reach

Feels good to have a Czech winger back on the team...I miss you Milan

Funny how much I've come around to Kaut. Saw him originally as a red flag (heart) low ceiling player and overlooked while researching prospects. My mistake this kid has got game. Avs becoming quite International again.

I could see Kaut and Jost clicking.

Best bang for buck when it comes to Avalanche news is to get a subscription to BSN Denver. They do a great job!

Really bummed about Siemens. He played well down the stretch when the injury bug hit.

hes a good story and a lovable character but his time has come, sucks as it would have been nice to see him stick around but he was outplayed by the depth guys on the roster and he blocks young guys in the AHL

Do hope he catches on with another team, I think he could be a depth guy in this league

I hope they sign him to an ELC and let him start with the eagles this year. Play on a line with Greer and Kamenev, building up some chemistry. Bring them up slowly once you are able to move out guys like Wilson, find out what you have in Kerfoot and Compher.

I hope they sign a vet winger (JVR or Neal) if possible and have one of those guys play with Jost and Ghetto on the 2nd line while the kids still develop.

I wish we kept him as a 7th or 8th depth man but agree on that his time came. With Timmins possibly on the roster this season it made Duncan slide further down the depth chart. I will miss him, hope he goes somewhere to the Eastern Conference
