Man, the UFA interview period hasn't even started, much less open for them to be signed. Most players drafted year in, year out aren't going to impact a team for 2+ years, so idk why so surprised. They do have more immediate help in their own prospect pool and they'll obviously be looking for trades/signings that can help.
Maybe wait to call them DOA until at least mid-summer. - L_B_R
FA aside, they need big rebound years from 19, 20, 2 and 7. Not to mention a healthy CC. |

Perhaps but for sure a status quo approach will most likely yield a similar results. Hopefully some strategic trades or nice FA signings will occur

Sure but you don't know they're going the status quo approach yet. The draft isn't even over lol. Gotta at least wait to see what happens in the coming weeks. |

supposedly dougie hamilton to canes. faulk may still be an option - ikeane
They're going to want to move Faulk for a center now that they've lost Lindholm imo. |

No. If the Canes were asking for Saad, then they don't think Anisimov is equal value - maybe if the Hawks added but I think they'll try for a younger or better center.
Now, timing may be an issue - Faulk's NTC kicks in on 7/1 so they'll probably try to trade him before then. |

Could be. Could be that they like AA but he has NMC until 7/1 so they play some hard ball to try to get Saad if the Hawks are desperate. |

Wake me up when they get a guy who can clear a crease. If they are going to have goalie issues one of the best ways to start to reduce the goals against is CLEAR THE (frank)ING CREASE. Please. |

They don't necessarily have to draft a crease clearing Dman to have one. I think their approach is to draft for skill, because size can be more easily signed or traded for. |

Good thought. I'm not sure AA for Faulk is an even swap because Faulk plays more hockey, AA is more often with the medic.
I'd try to sweeten the deal to get it done and then some more. What would it take to pry away Faulk and Rask? Would AA + Sikura get it done? |

FWIW, Eklund says supposedly done deal: Hamilton to Canes for Hanifin, Lindholm, Ferland, and Fox.
Maybe talk to Flames about Lindholm and maybe Brodie?
Hamonic rumored to be on the block. |

Agree, those guys can be traded for or developed. But they better get a couple. There has to be a D man somewhere with at least some size that wants to dedicate himself to protecting the fort just to play in the show. And a coach that can see the value of it wouldn't hurt either. |

Several teams interested in trading for Panarin. Bidding war? This could finally spell the end for Bowman. |

Except that Faulk's NTC kicks in the same time so they need to move before 7/1.
Also, I like Anisimov, I defend him a lot, but he's not worth Faulk straight up. |
