Is this a fair trade?
Crawford + 8th overall to Buffalo for #1 overall and Ctr- Larson
Buffalo gets their cup winning goalie and 8th pick, Hawks get Dahlin and C-depth - Bjm84
Not in a million years. Unless it was Conner McDavid involved Buffalo is not trading this #1 pick. |

No way. Hawks would have to add the sexond #1 pick and a #1 from next draft. So no - mrpaulish
You move CC to get rid of his 6M - this would be a priority of the trade. Future approach will be to not have big money in the goaltending.

My concern would be that Q would neuter Tkachuk and try to make him a poke checker, not a hitter. - ikeane
Just like he neutered Shaw or Bickell or any of the meatheads he played on the 4th in recent years like Bollig or Bouma. Q doesn't dislike hitting - he just wants it to be smart hitting. |

Hawks win Cups, likely more Cups, without Q.

Keep #s 8 and 27, or...
If we trade either pick, it is to wind up with more picks in the top 40...
Don't use either pick on a goaltender, drafted, or as a trade chip for the same....
Don't use assets to move up one or two spots. This team is not that close...
No more team additions that play small and hide from the tough areas on the ice, unless we subtract two of the ones already on hand.

Well, chances are hes not coaching for another 50yrs, and I'd hope they can win another in that time frame.
But what is real, is he was the coach for them winning 3. As much as some hate or refuse to admit it. Fact is fact. |

Or Matthews if he won’t sign with Toronto...
Montreal could swap Dahlin/Matthews and make a massive run at Tavares lol |

The Hawks desperately miss players like Shaw in this mix. He wasn't worth what the Habs paid him, but that passion is MIA on this roster right now. |

C'mon man.... Based on what? Who would have coached them to more cups? They almost went to three straight SC finals, save for an overtime G7 against the Kings. I'm not getting into your whole player vs coach argument, but this line is ill conceived. |

Zhawks misspelled Stanley Bowman. IF Bowman added a legit 2C in 2014 they beat LA. IF Bowman added to the defense group in 2016 opposed to getting bottom 6 forwards, they likely beat STL, and who knows how far they could've gone that year as STL went to the West Finals. Same story in 2017 when he had a terrible 3rd pair. |

Good call.
Hawks: Crawford + Murphy
Buff: 32nd overall, Marco Scandella, Ryan O'Reilly
THEN
Hawks: 27th overall + Forsberg
Wash: Grubauer
Hawks would then have picks at 8 and 32nd(possibly send to Carolina for Faulk?) while getting younger and upside at goalie, getting a pure 2C who can take a faceoff, and get a D-man in Scandella.
The hawks could then either trade Hossa, the 32nd and some for Faulk+Darling or even go our and sign a backup/D man.

Crawford (6) + AA (4.55)
ROR (7.5) + Girgensons/Larsson (1.6/1.475)
We save 1.2-1.4 off the cap and get some center depth
Then trade 27th overall + prospect (not named...) to Washington for Grauber

Since we are waiting on some actual news... if we had Anisimov in 2014 do you think that would have been enough to push through? |

Stan and Q both own the failures the last couple of years. As tight as the cap has been, every single mistake is magnified x 5.
As for 17-18, you can't subtract your #1 goaltender via injury and lose your best defensive defenseman to trade (without anything close to replacement) and possibly compete at the same level. Especially if the core save for Kane vanishes. |

Vermette was the one that should have been acquired, but AA would have very likely been the difference. It was so bad eventually Q moved Shaw to L2-C and things picked up. It was a MAJOR gaff to move into that season with Handzus as L2-C. To his credit, Bowman did not make the same mistake in 2015, having gone out and picked up Richards, but poor job on foresight in 2014. |

Crawford is damage goods & old
Dahlin is the next Bobby Orr
Unless 88 goes to BUFF they are not trading #1 pick & 88 might not be enough for BUFF

I think you misunderstood what I meant. If Crawford is going to Buffalo and ROR is coming here, the salary is pretty much a wash. But, if the Hawks want Lehner too, that's another 4 million on the books for the Hawks. I would have to assume that the Hawks would want to shed more salary. Maybe AA would be going the other way to balance out the money. - Lido_Shuffle
No I understood you, what I’m saying is Lehner is an UFA, and he’s not going to get anywhere near $4m. |

Not a single person hates or refuses to admit the Hawks won 3 Cups. Any debate surrounds why or how those Cups were won and whether there should’ve been more success. Remember there has also been a load of First Round exits and now a missed play-offs.

Wiz has Zadina falling to the Hawks on his website, this would be a dream come true. I think it's more likely that we get one of Wahlstrom or Tkachuck. Any of these three would look great flanking Toews or opposite Kane.
Hope springs eternal! - Q-stache
Christmas in June!
Pretty excited since the Hawks should get a top line or top d pairing at #8. Granted it make take a few years, but still! Hope he'll be part of the new core!

FIRST !!Come on Hawks keep both picks !! - CTblackhawkfan
Just saw a summary of the Hawks' picks this year. No 2nd so that late 1st is their 2nd. picks 3, 4, and 5 are not even their own. 3rd from Wash. 4th from Nash. and 5th from Columbus.
Yeah, hope they hang on to the two 1st round picks. |

If the Hawks trade either of the first round picks for anything other than a similar pick, I will take a dump on my kitchen floor.
Have we learned nothing from the last three years of sacrificing draft picks for roster players? |
