So how soon will we see Boqvist??
- SoftServe

Two years probably the earliest, maybe 3 realistically. He's only 17, one of (if not the) youngest guy in the draft. Means the product gets here later but could also mean the highest reward if comparisons to other players pan out.

Idk I'd have liked Wahlstrom or Dobson at that point, but it is what it is.

Have to have someone willing to make that trade. With how many d-men are mixed in that range, teams don't need to move at all.
- L_B_R

I agree about the dmen, but if a team wanted a forward, Wahlstrom was by far the best on the board.

Why does Bowman have problem with prospects with size .
I guess time will tell but I think they were better choices still out there

IMO This team will never win with Stan Bowman assembling the roster. I’m out, hope I’m wrong and it’s Eric Karlsson 2.0, but man Wahlstrom looks like the perfect pick there. He builds a team with all sub 180 players. He’s only in his job bc of nepotism and he’s a clown. You never played at a high level and it shows Stan.

Passed over Dobson, Bouchard and Wahlstrom. Stan Bowman shows himself to be a NON-PLAYER again! This ducking guy thinks it’s Euro men’s league the way he tries to make this team. Wahlstrom is a beast and 2 big D. (frank) you Stan.

Who they take at 27, Zo?

hmm, makes me wonder if Stan thinks he's sticking around a while. Not exactly the kind of move a GM makes if he thinks next season is win or else.

And yet Wahlstrom is still there. Rangers went with a different forward in Kravtsov instead.

I think Islanders grab him now and then a d-man as well.

Does this mean the current run with this core is about over? Was hoping for someone who could help now....

It just shows you haw diverse the thinking was....there is no way I would have thought Wahlstrom and Dobson would be on the board for the Isle...watch they don't take both of them, lol!

No, it just means they'll have to get immediate help outside of these draft picks unless someone surprises radically in the next year or two.

Honestly, the run with this core may have been over regardless who they took at 8. ........ They say Crow is fine, expect him to be ready but hasn't been on the ice in 5 months!!!

In 3 yrs I think they had a better chance with a new core of Wahlstrom at 8 and a shot at 1st or 2nd rotation guy at 27, not the other way around.

You're not going to find a player at #8 who is going to help you win next year. If Stan was desperate to turn this club around over the Summer, he would have traded both picks for a top 4 Dman and top 6 forward.

Yep, small Smurf team will never be able to play playoff hockey.

Can't for the life of me understand why we always take undersized guys.

Well there was really no point in getting the 8th overall pick.
