Hey guys,

I recently booked our flights from Germany to Chicago for the end of the year and of course would love to attend the Winter Classic. Kind of impossible to buy tickets for a reasonable price right now, as I am obviously not a season ticket holder Probably you guys can share some experience / advice for getting 2 tickets? Does it make sense to wait till the season ticket holder presale is over and see if some tickets are still available? Or already going via the "resale route", look for other platforms etc?

Really appreciate your help and thx in advance!

Andrei Altybarmakyan is a 98 3rd rd and Artur Kayumov is also a 98 but a 2nd rd pick. The player Jason posted, Shalunov, is a 93 already and had a couple solid yrs in the KHL. So the two younger Cossacks we watched the last WJC U-20 are still upside prospects.

Looking at this makes one worry about drafting another Russian for fear they won't come over. The Kravstov kid as good as he looks gives pause as a Hawks fan.

- Mr Ricochet

Yeah, I knew all that, and my point was with the older guy Shalunov the window on a rookie salary cap is closing so he asks for a player deal with bonuses, etc. and he isn't a $950,000 guy...

the reason you get the two developing high skilled kids here is because you want their Cap lid too.

and I only saw three entire games late on Kravstov, and he was a beast. The other footage I saw later confirmed it.
I really doubt he is there at slot 27.

BTW...that Sunday Marc Lazerus Mock had Nicolas Beaudin the hawks second pick....it isn't that I am not a fan, but I think I have other defenders ranked higher that they would be interested in before the go Victor Mete in the first round.
Although his 80 point totals in 78 regular and playoff games were terrific junior numbers, and yet we (me) have him in slot #38 in the early second...

Right on the games part. That little experience really soured the Preds on him. Which made him available for Hartman plus a hope.
- Elbows15

Hmm it was always his plan to go back to Sweden. He had a two-year deal with an NHL opt-out clause in year 2, so he was going back regardless of how he did in camp.

Clearing Hossa's contract with 27 is even dumber than making that trade in the first place. No one is gonna be drooling over the 27th pick. Get real here.

Maybe moving the 27th get you an early 2nd plus another 3rd.

- Elbows15

The Hawks are hell bent on moving that contract. Hossas cap hit while high, has a small actual "salary" to be paid.

I get you love Hartman......he is not, nor will he ever be ANdrew Shaw or Bolland. He is a head case who takes moronic penalties come playoff time and that's why he was dealt by Bowman, and scratched by Nashville. You can make any excuse for him in the world.....

On another note very happy, assuming the multiple claims, that Toews is being shopped. Will he be traded? Who the hell knows but this is what Bowman SHOULD Be doing....shopping/listening on anyone not named Kane. This team needs a wake up call and it starts with MR ONNIT himself.

For Hartman, I think his production last year was really buoyed by those first two games where the Hawks faced the Pens and Jackets on the second half of back to back and Hartman was really the benefit of Kane/Schmaltz making some unreal plays. Those 2 games got Hartman 6 points, and then he managed 19 in the 55 games after that.

He scored scored less goals but managed more assists. I guess I don't see why people are too upset about moving a guy who seems like his ceiling is 3rd line.

I've heard good things about Westworld. I need to catch up. HBO is a juggernaut with great shows over the years past.

Very curious to see how they end GOT...….saw Emile Clark just wrapped her final scenes...….

100% agreed. The return of a 1st round pick, late, in a deep draft was a nice return.

Hossa retired?

"The 39-year-old revealed he was hanging his skates up as a result of a skin condition but has seemingly changed his mind. According to ta3.com, Hossa dismissed the idea at his 10th annual Star of Children charity event."

This might just be speculation for clickbait purposes but interesting to read the take that he denies he is retired.

To be accurate, the 5 games that Ejdsell played in the AHL were with Rockford, Chicago's farm team. He played there after his season was over in Sweden. He was called up by the Hawks, played 6 games, and then returned to Rockford for the playoffs where he had 7 goals and 5 assists in 13 games. He might never be a player in the NHL but the improvement he showed in the AHL playoffs warrants at least a tryout with the Hawks.

He played for the Admirals before being traded.

We will have support for everything. ha.

But seriously, I will post a blog immediately after the pick is made and a live discussion will commence from there on everyone's thoughts.

You will NOT get value for Toews. Toews will bring back nothing substantial, unless you eat salary, take garbage contract back or send sweeteners. Players who are paid well above their production levels simply lack the value to obtain quality. You SURE won't be getting a Top 6 center in return.

Ditto for Seabrook, another unmovable deal.

Players who can get you value are those who are currently "at value", I'd say that's Kane, Crawford (he would be ABOVE value if not for questions about his health), Anisimov (though he won't fetch much) and possibly Saad (if for no other reason due to youth and potential).

ABOVE value players would be kids on their first deal. No real point in trading any of those. I'd argue Keith is an "above value" guy, his deal is long, but the cap hit for what he brings is nothing.

He’s drawn comparisons to Arvidsson due to the energy and tenacity in a small package.

Here’s my 2020/21 Hawks lineup...

Tkachuk-Schmaltz-Kane
Debrincat-Toews-Saad
Hinostroza/Sikura-Ejdsell-Hayden
Goon-Kampf-Grinder

Keith-Doughty
Jokiharju-Murphy
Forsling-Seabrook

Grubauer
Delia

- EnzoD

I could live with it maybe a different 3rd line center

I believe you and someone else pointed this out, but I believe the trade boiled down to Hartman "complaining" about at least how he was being used and not used in the lineup and possibly about deployment of teammates as well. I put complaining in quotes because that could be eye of the beholder, i.e. maybe teammates supported him but management or maybe just coaches felt he was complaining when he really wasn't, or maybe teammates, management, and coaches alike felt he was too much to handle in the locker room.

So I don't think Hartman's on-ice performance or lack thereof did him in, but it was the net result of him "complaining" to the point where others had too much and felt it was best to cut bait now and get something for him since having him long term wasn't good for team culture.

Not seeing Shalunov his numbers in the KHL say he might help here but mentioned the other two Cossack's as being younger, higher draft picks in that they may be here or help in 2-3 yrs. ..... Now as far as contracts go for any of the 3 to come over in 1-2-3-4 yrs I have no idea and defer.

And as far as Kravstov IMO there is zero chance he lasts until 27. Just read where he was the highest scoring under 19 yr old ever in the KHL playoffs and that performance is fresh in NHL minds. That combined with his size, hands and what he's shown on film means he goes closer to middle teens is my guess.

What I'm entertaining in my head is StanBow moving down to the middle of the 1st rd and acquire two 2nds or another very late 1st, or even trading with the Isles for their 11th and 12th and looking at a Kravstov type in that slot and maybe a falling Dman or a Veleno/Kupari/Hayton type.

If the Isles, or another club, sees someone fall to the 8th they really covet maybe the Hawks turn that in their favor. Doubtful though as StanBowPops&McD are fighting for their jobs.

In other words the hope is for a draft like ANA had in 2003(?) when they took Getzlaf and Perry in the 1st rd.

The draft is very deep. Of course people will be drooling over the 27th pick. It's a good trade asset if the Hawks decide to move if. If they hold onto it, they'll be able to draft quality talent at 27.
- SoftServe

Small sample size, but the last time the Hawks had two #1 draft picks was when they took both McNeill and Danault in the 2011 draft at 18th and 26th (IIRC, the 26th pick was acquired before the draft or on draft day from the Capitals for Brouwer). Danault turned out to be the better player, hands down, so who knows if the 27th may pay more dividends than the 8th. Let's go with option C with both doing well.

And agree that the 27th pick is a valuable trade chip if the Hawks include it in a trade instead.

Sir, the Winter Classic, or any outdoor game, has lost its luster and with the Hawks playing so poorly last yr tickets are available at face value or below. ... I don't think you will have a problem getting tickets to the WC and if you have to pay over face value it shouldn't be much more than that.
