Dream on

I know, silly right? I'd rather they revisit trading Dcat, Schmaltz, Forsling and our #1 for Dutch like last year. (red font)

Can you at least wait until -
1) if this ever happens? Um, EK is reporting it
2) if/when subsequent moves are made, wait until they all happen?

Who knows if they get him. Who know if he would sign here. Who knows what the term will be.

He has pretty good size at 6'3 220lbs and can skate. On 8 & 88's LW, he should hit 30 again easily. If they decide to keep AA, he slides to the 3rd line giving them size

Then, depending on who they draft - a forward or D - can fill another hole for them

- PatShart

No guarantee that the pick is NHL ready or committed to NCAA or overseas. But, a lot of us thought our 2nd rounder DeBrincat wouldn't make the team out of camp but did and played well in all 82 games.

Should be interesting.

wiz - just like I didn’t gloat when DeBrincat was a success I won’t gloat when Tkachuk isn’t. lol. However, I will tip my hat if I am wrong. I actually hope that Tkachuk does OK I just don’t think he has a ceiling high enough for a high pick.

You remember, after prospects camp, how DeBrincat was being dismissed? I also had him as a roster guy then too.

Enzo, forget Hughes and Tkachuk. Neither of those guys are sliding thru Arizona, Ottawa, Detroit or Vancouver. They will be gone - unless Stanbo spends to move up.

Think Zadina or Bouchard as the selection.

- RickJ

And IF Ottawa keeps their 4th over draft position and goes defense, that clearly (to me, anyway) is a tell Karlsson is not resigning there and part of return will be Vegas’ first rounder so that they can fulfill the payment in the Duchene trade with THAT first rounder, not THEIR own 2019 slotted pick.

If Karlsson is staying, and Zadina does drop to the 4 slot,(because Montreal draft Jesperi Kotkaniemi) selecting him starts improving things sooner with additional scoring by 2019-2020 at the very least.

So for minute lets simply take the stand that the Senators also decide to draft for need on the backline.
Let us also assume they fill they are safer to not take undersized Quinn Hughes and decide on one of the bigger bodied guys, Noah Dobson or the guy who is a bit closer, Evan Bouchard.

This drops Zadina into Arizona’s lap. I know they were impressed with him as all-around player and solid attacker and his interview meeting only cemented it.

that gets us to here on my draft board:
6 Detroit Quinton Hughes D Michigan 5' 10" 176
7 Vancouver Noah Dobson D Acadie-Bathurst (QMJHL) 6' 3" 177
8 Chicago Brady Tkachuk LW Boston University 6' 3" 192
9 NYRangersOliver WahlstromLW USNTDP (USHL) 6' 1" 19

Worse team without Panarin? Not quite.

Worse team without Hammer
Worse team without Crow

Seabrook in further decline. Toews getting 10.5 while producing like a 4.5 player. Keith having a bad year. No viable center depth, basically filler guys

- kwolf68

SAAD STINKS!!!

Get him away from 19 & then 19 will be fine

Let Saad play with 88

I saw a question to Prohman on a guy I have as 3rd rounder, 89th overall, Bulat Shafigullin. 6' 170ish offhanded LW
Has a total of 17 KHL games under his belt and seem mostly action in the MHL and the VHL. A sleeper who hasn't been in international tournaments or even played Russian youth hockey, but already displays a strong balanced skating stride, good agility and the ability to generate chances and score.

there is lot to read if want select hawk prospect prior to their real one for your consumption in my draft site profiles..

You do realize that is complete BS right? Show me one GM that would not trade within his own division. I might tend to agree that if the same value was offered by a team in the division and another not that the GM may be inclined to deal to the latter but in no way no how will a GM EVER not deal with a team within their division. It's simply ludicrous to suggest that.

Last deadline- STL traded with Winnepeg. The Hawks and Preds made a deal. Hell the Hawks even sent Chelios to their bitter rival. Please stop with this foolishness. And while we are at it (not looking at you unless you're guilty of it) let's put to bed the "you pay for past performance" idiocy as well.

Carry on.

Go read Tallon's quotes from the trade. HE said the price was idiotic vs what Wilson was asking for. Go read Ottawa scribes saying the GM does everything he can NOT to do it.

Sure do. We were in a very small minority.
