I think Miller could sneak into the top 20. No chance he falls to 37 - CanuckDon

Risto is better offensively but just as bad defensively, if I had to choose it’d be Ristolainen. - LeftCoaster
Similar start to their careers ...which one got the spike in their offensive numbers once Eichel joined their pp ?

Just listening to Dreger on TSN1260 in Edmonton. Suggesting the Oilers are trying to trade Lucic, but would have to throw in a "sweetener". So delusional Oiler fans are all over it saying they want Hanifan or Faulk for Lucic and Puliarvii or the 10th. Even the host is saying if they do a Lucic deal with one of the "sweeteners" they would want a foundational player back that would help the franchise for 5 + years🤣😂🤣. Here we are saying our 7th and Demko or Tanev or.... for Hanifan. They think adding in Lucic and 5 years at 6 million is a bonus or something. Comical.... |

Can't wait for the draft. I honestly think Dobson will be the second best D in this draft. I hope he is still available, if not Wahlstrom all the way!!
Dobson by far is/has the best slapper, snapper, wrister, hitter, giver, listener, thinker, etc |

Just ranking guys based on skill/talent alone is just as bad as ranking them based on “intangibles” imo
Just watching this guy play will tell you that he’s a dangerous combination of lazy and dumb. Hockey sense is above all else for a dman. - Nucker101
Still doesn't make Merkley a 2nd or 3rd rounder. |

Sure it does. He is a long shot to play in the NHL. Why would you gamble the 20th pick for that? A late 2nd? Perhaps |

Why not? Players drop significantly in the draft every year - Shinkaruk ring a bell? Jordan Schroeder?
If Merkley has been identified as a major defensive liability, he may very well drop out of the 1st round for a safer pick.
Will it happen? None of us know, but if he's sitting there at 37, JB better scoop him up yesterday.... |

I wouldn't touch Merkley at 37. If he falls to the 3rd round I'd 100% take a chance though. The kid refuses to play defense and is apparently despised in the dressing room. Just imagine taking Merkley and Boqvist and neither of them ever play a game in the NHL We need to hit on both picks. Desperate for legit D prospects |

He'd never make it to round 3. As they say, you can teach defense but not offence.
If you grab Dobson at 7, Id most def take Merkley at 37.
Not worried about him being despised, good leadership will correct the behaviors and I trust Horvat is the man.
But that is my preference and I am in all likelihood wrong, but if you want homeruns, you gotta swing big... |

What if we go all in and hit on them both, with them both reaching their ceilings?
Then we'd have two top 2 offensive defensemen.
Or would you prefer to double down on the safe picks and take the top 6 floored Dobson 7oa and Xavier bernard at 37?
Then, if they both got their ceiling we'll have a number 3 and a number 5 defender.... |

That'll work out perfectly with Don's dream of pairing them with Tryamkin
From Rick D:
Nikita Tryamkin's agent Todd Diamond on SN 650, "I spoke at the NHL Combine with the #Canucks about Nikita and how we can approach it and maybe get ahead of it so everyone knows he is a valued person on the depth chart."
Diamond says everyone should be prepared for Tryamkin to come back to Vancouver in 2 years, "is there is a chance it could be sooner, it's a small chance." #Canucks
Good to hear they are going to spend time addressing his feelings |

I'd draft Merkley in the 3rd and immediatley convert him to wing The few times I have seen him I do not see an NHL dman. Talented kid though |

I'd draft him in the 2nd if we draft Dobson in the first. Gotta swing for the fences sometime. |

We can't start agreeing just yet....
We're making too draft the home run first, then draft the guance and virtanens with later picks. I'm not in favour of drafting those types of players 7ov. |

To me he’s a 2nd rounder when I view him with his strengths and weaknesses all in one package.
I have other prospects in mind for the Canucks 2nd rounder, but if they’re all gone I’d be fine with taking the risk I guess. |
