Risto is better offensively but just as bad defensively, if I had to choose it’d be Ristolainen.

Just listening to Dreger on TSN1260 in Edmonton. Suggesting the Oilers are trying to trade Lucic, but would have to throw in a "sweetener". So delusional Oiler fans are all over it saying they want Hanifan or Faulk for Lucic and Puliarvii or the 10th. Even the host is saying if they do a Lucic deal with one of the "sweeteners" they would want a foundational player back that would help the franchise for 5 + years🤣😂🤣. Here we are saying our 7th and Demko or Tanev or.... for Hanifan. They think adding in Lucic and 5 years at 6 million is a bonus or something. Comical....

Dobson by far is/has the best slapper, snapper, wrister, hitter, giver, listener, thinker, etc

Just ranking guys based on skill/talent alone is just as bad as ranking them based on “intangibles” imo

Sure it does. He is a long shot to play in the NHL. Why would you gamble the 20th pick for that? A late 2nd? Perhaps

If Merkley has been identified as a major defensive liability, he may very well drop out of the 1st round for a safer pick.

I wouldn't touch Merkley at 37. If he falls to the 3rd round I'd 100% take a chance though. The kid refuses to play defense and is apparently despised in the dressing room. Just imagine taking Merkley and Boqvist and neither of them ever play a game in the NHL We need to hit on both picks. Desperate for legit D prospects

Not worried about him being despised, good leadership will correct the behaviors and I trust Horvat is the man.

To me he’s a 2nd rounder when I view him with his strengths and weaknesses all in one package.

I have other prospects in mind for the Canucks 2nd rounder, but if they’re all gone I’d be fine with taking the risk I guess.
