i am the biggest sens hater but I dont wish that on any team.
I love the hockey related screw ups..but not interested in enjoying that kinda stuff. - senstroll
Agreed, no human being should be bullied like that; Especially, after all Erik and Melinda went thru. |

It's not in trouble, hockey is a fast sport with hitting. It's more that they need to understand the issues that will come later in life and eliminate fighting; Implement a minimum 10 game suspension for any head shots. Like Boynton said in that story, he was out there trying to hurt people.. - PatC80
it is in trouble. we dont know how brains get damaged. a simple bump could do just as much damage as a punch..you dont know.
eliminating fighting and 10 game suspensions tell me they can't see the forest for the trees.

Standing idly by while the relationship between your franchise player and best forward devolves into being irreconcilable due to personal reasons and poisoning the entire locker room in the process could be viewed as a hockey related screw up.

Hoffman seems to be still denying that his g/f was doing it....so I'm guessing the club didn't know? |

From what I've read, it seems like the club knew, and many people within the organization. |

At the end of the day, it is still a contact sport, similar to football, you can't get rid of contact... There needs to be better/tougher rules put into place to establish some form of player safety.. I think eliminating fighting is a start, it may not reduce the number of concussions, but it is a good starting point. |

the Sens org hasnt handled anything well at all. thats for sure. even the Randy Lee stuff.. he should have been put on leave right away until they knew what was going on. not keeping his position working with kids and the draft.
the allegations are creepy enough that should be obvious |

Dorion/Melnyk let him stay on because the kids they are going to draft are only 18, and the boy Lee assaulted was 19.. So, they assume Lee will be ok to help with them for a year. |

Some reports indicate that the team has known and was "investigating" since March or even earlier.
The number of wives and Gf's of current and former Sens commenting on this on the side of the Karlsson household makes it very difficult for me to believe the organization didn't know. |

i dont want to get into a big discussion about it, but dinky little rule changes wont make a difference unless they fully understand what can cause damage.
is 10 punches worse than 500 or 1000 bumps/contact over a season? we dont know |

“We’ve been aware of this situation for months,” said Mike Liut, the managing director of the hockey division at Octagon Agency, which represents Hoffman. “This happened at the end of the year. We’ve been very clear with the club. I’ve talked to the players’ association about it. We’ve been very up front about Mike’s support of Monika and denial of what’s going on. He told that to Erik face-to-face at the end of the season.
“Mike has made himself available to get to the bottom of it. Cyber-bullying in our society is not good. It’s bad. This is epidemic. That’s certainly not something Mike and Monika is going to engage in.
“It’s been very perplexing for them. They’ve been very supportive of the Karlssons, and what has gone on, notwithstanding the accusation, and are really mystified as to how this is landing on Monika.
“Mike is not involved. He’s supporting Monika, and they’ve done some research. They clearly want to find out who this is (that’s responsible.)” |

I would think head shots/blind hits are what's causing most of it...anything jarring...I doubt a little bump in the corner does much damage....or i'd be hanging around in a straight jacket with padded walls.

You are right, we don't know.. In fact, no one really does know. All I'm saying is eliminating fighting is a step in the right direction.. It may not reduce the number of concussions but it is a good starting point. |

We can find out when North Korea does some sort of cyber attack but we can't figure out where social media accounts are being made? Strange...you'd think it would be real easy.

It sounds like the Karlssons have figured it out.
Karlsson's tweet (in reply to the disgusting tweet we all know about):
“How dare you. You have been making fake accounts and buying hacked ones for months to harass me and my wife but this is an all new low even for you. You are a disgusting person.”
The "buying hacked ones" leads me to believe that they've done some cyber-investigating. |

I dont think that is exactly accurate. They do know what damages the brain, you make it seem like they have no idea. They know that high impacts to the head causes trauma, and that concussions cause brain damage.
Little bumps are likely not an issue, if they are we wont be able to do any exercises any more... |
