Hey Todd - de Haan is someone I would like to see the Blackhawks go after.

For fun, what's your guestimate for term/$$ on a guy like that?

Two or three years worth a little more than $3M per.

Nobody seems to be mentioning Mike Green. He had a good year on a terrible team, some incredible offensive talent, and likely to sign a 1-2 year deal which would be ideal for the Devs. He can still skate with the best of them, and would be a major boost to our pp. Him with a defensive playmaker like Butch would be a great pairing in my opinion.

It maybe that neither Carlsson or Taveras even wants to play in NJ no matter the $s offered, I don't know. But if the off-season "get" is Perron and DeHaan, it would be disappointing. Perhaps a more competitive first round elimination....

Shero is going to active in "upgrading" what we have now. Show Hall that we want to be competitive sooner than later. I said it before the season started than once he gets a taste of playoff action he's gonna be hungry for more. Need to keep pushing forward.

It’s possible, but being able to play with aTaylor Hall should be appealing to a lot of people.

Not necessarily the devils are a young team players like Nico, Zacha, Wood Bratt, Coleman Severson Butcher are only going to get better you don’t build a competitor through free agency you build through the draft and fill in the holes with free agents and trades to put you over the top

Who knows but there were rumours Perron and Hall weren’t exactly buddies in Edmonton.

Ya? I think someone will ante up for him and I have him in the $4.5(ish) range. He made $3.3M last year so thinking someone might get a 3-4 year deal around then due to his age and ability to play in a top 4 role.

I'd avoid Perron. He can drive you crazy. Seems like a talented guy, but goes long stretches with uninspired play. He had a good year so I imagine someone will get suckered into paying him too much.

This is closer to the truth; he's a reliable 3-4. Experienced, reliable ones go at a price tag of 4+M. Mark Fayne's contract is the comparable.

This team would not have been able to compete in the second round of the playoffs with any team that was there this year, its just s plain fact.

You build through the draft sure but if a JT becomes available you do it. Nico has less pressure and can learn from one of the best. As noted elsewhere JVR could probably sign for 4 x $5.5M, MarJo slides to right side. See if LL would take a Zajac or Greene off our hands. Also With Isles losing Seidenberg are they interested in Lovejoy? Pulock has to move up. Wouldnt be surprised if Moore signs there.

if the only thing we do is bring in an established top 4 D (through trade) and Tavares (lol), then I'm happy. Bumps Nico to 2nd line, and Zajac or whoever to the 3rd line.. where they should be. My only trepidation is playing Nico without Hall, as they were good together and I think Tavares can make wingers better, while Nico maybe needed Hall to take some heat off him.

If that is all the kid is asking I hope the Dev's go for him. Green is a very undervalued player who brings a ton of offense. Always over 0.5PPG, and had two seasons producing in the mid 70's. I think he would take 2-3 years at around 4.5 per. I mean we have Green and Lovejoy combining for 7.6M and we are getting zero offense, and sup par shut down capabilities from them. These boys are low term, low risk.

DOOMED. For sure re-signing Moore for 6 years now.
