I wouldn't want to part with a 1st for him, but I'd be open for trading almost anyone else not named Hischier. So if it took Zacha(or McLeod?), Müller(or even Greene?), and Quenneville(or Lappin?) to get Hanifin, I'd make that trade in a heartbeat. |

Why would Carolina want Greene to be part of any potential trade package? You assume they'd be willing to move a young, mobile, financially controllable asset and get back an aging, costly veteran? Not sure I get that...
I'd probably be willing to surrender a first, if for no other reason than I don't see a legit package of prospects we could send back. |

Keep Mueller. He's shown upside in the latter half of the year and his value is almost certainly lower than that upside. |

I believe we came to the consensus that we didn't want him when he was a free agent. |

Very true. I'm sure there will be many who think they should look to move him, but you're spot on. He has no value and, considering the price the Devils paid to get him, they need to give it more time to see what they have. |

I assumed they wouldn't which is why I wrote my package as Zacha, Müller, and Quenneville. I just was giving alternates to show some options. That said, I could see some interest in Greene (especially if we ate 50% of his salary) due to that fact that, despite his age, he is still a decent defender meaning he could take over for the loss of Hanifin; while providing a culture change in the locker room. But all that said, if I were Carolina, I'd take Zacha, Müller, and Quenneville for Hanifin. |

I'll just say that I disagree with about 95% of this^. |

That's fair, you are allowed to have an opinion. Just know you have to give up something to get a guy like Hanifin; and considering I'm not willing to give up Hischier or the 1st, one has to be open for other options. |

My disagreement was with your perceived value of all the Devils you included. I don't see how they net a guy like Hanifin. I'm fine with spending to get, which is why I noted my willingness to move a 1st. |

"Pavel Zacha and a 1st round pick, or quality prospect, to do so.", uh no thanks, adding one more piece would get you Doughty or Ek65, total overpayment IMO. Then again, I dont know much about Noah, is he that good to part with all that?
Also, Mueller kicked ass for Swiss, I'd keep him because if he can take that to the Devils, that would be a steal of a deal Shero made. |

Todd...what about this trade Flauk & Hanifin for Zacha, Severson, Quenneville or McLeod, 2018 1st rd, 2019 2nd rd picks or a similar combination...your thoughts? |

People also wouldn't have thought that Larsson would land Hall but look at us now.
But in all seriousness that is fair, different people value different things. Some people might consider Zacha a bust cause he hasn't produced huge numbers while others might think he is doing decent considering he's holding his own as our 2nd line center at 21 years old. But if you want an exact list of players I'd be open to discussing between (carolina would get 2-3 guys depending on whom they grab) it is: Zacha, McLeod, Bratt, Anderson, Müller, Santini, Severson, Zajac, Greene, Lovejoy, Lappin, Bastien, Gignac, Seney, Zetterlund, basically everyone else on our AHL roster, extra. |

Sooooo a bunch of trash players? Cool. Seems 100% fair. Totally worth it when we are trading away a rising young dman in Hanifin.

You're not trading anyone, the Hurricans are. You will just have to accept our trash players and like it. |

Zacha, McLeod, and a bag of Fried Oreos. If we are taking about adding a 1st rounder I rather it be next years or packaged for OEL |

I concur, no point on giving up a 1st if team is still rebuilding. But if Shero feels team is ready for the next step, give up the 1st ONLY for an impact player. |

Exactly. Couldn't agree more. No way that's even close to fair value IMO. |
