I'd rather have Bolland, Bickell, Brouwer types. Bruisers not brawlers.
JMO - hocktock
Very, very true. Players who play hard, not hardly play. |

not a fan of orpik...but thats a charge or boarding 100%..
good ole McCaully the best of the worst - bogiedoc
Yes, 100 percent. Absolutely can’t understand how that wasn’t called....player defenseless at boards, numbers squarely in the face of the oncoming checker.....absolute Mickey Mouse officiating not to call that. |

But Eddie doesn’t seem to be wrong about Q, at least in this case. - StLBravesFan
You may be right but jmho he still follows the forward tothe boards and the forward for his team has to get back on his high horse and protect center ice. Holtby has bailed him out often. The rub is the Hawks wantedto be more aggressive offensively but can't do it if defenseman are constantly out of position and leaving a clean lane to the goalie. People say Q's defense is easy and i believe it's quite the opposite.
We'll see but i see so many similarities to the LVGK to the2013 Blackhawks. That was the hardest working Blackhawk team I've ever seen of all my years watching Blackhawk hockey
Actually we'll see next year how the baby Hawks do. I'm thinking theywill be a better team. |

Give Q a team that SHOULD win and he WILL win more often than almost any othe coach.
Phil Jackson with skates.
But like Jackson - not good at building a young team into true contenders. - StLBravesFan
sage Q had the youngest team in the league after taking over for savard and went onto to 5 WC finals and 3 cups...in 7 years
pretty good development of a young team |

that is my argument.....
let me say it again the hawks between 2013-2015 won 2 cups, 10 of 11 playoff series with out psycho felons like wilson...guys like him are pointless to winning and are not needed...
those teams have plenty of toughness just ask the 2015 anaheim thugs...oops mean ducks... - bogiedoc
Agree!... Brouwer, Bickell, and others I mentioned before we're no slouches in the tough dept. this team now we have is an embarrassment. I think the CAPTIAN had enough, he gets rung all the time and his guys just stand around and watch. I think we can all agree to see what happens by July 15th per say, then we can get the torches out. |

Young yes but Toews and Kane were elite 3rd and 1st overall picks while Keith and Seabrook had already served their apprenticeships with a lot of credit going to Yawney for their development. |

Yes Bowman is in the clock. He must make good moves. Q too must resolve some issues....just take the PP for one example.
Imagine your team finally gets to the Cup final. Only to loose to a first year expansion team. Never saw that coming in the wildest dreams.Vegas will be the favorite too
Would live someone to ask Q his thoughts on Kempny performance in the playoffs and why Kempny didn't perform well enough in Chicago. Will he blame Ulfie and Stan, blame himself, sidestep a direct answer. |

But they had time to develop which is key for any young defenseman not named Hjalmarrson |

How long has it been since Holtby gave up a goal? He just shut them down the last 2 games |

|

Well at least Yzerman has a lot of team friendly contacts under his belt. |

That team was ready to move - Toews and Kane were 20, but were superstars in waiting; Sharp, Ladd, Keith, Eager, Burish, Campbell, Seabrook, Hossa all were experienced players.
I think he put the group together more than developed individual players - again, like a Jackson would do. |

That’s about as weak an empty goal as I’ve ever seen scored. Looks like the fight was already out of the Bolts to give up something that weak. |

After both the 1st and 2nd rounds I thought it was going to be the bolts and jets in the finals. Believe the better team won each 3rd round series. Think the caps showed much more character than I thought they had......didn’t expect them to come back after being down 3 games to 2. Should be an interesting finals. |

WTC I agree with every one of your posts tonight. Bowman has basically turned this team into a squad best suited to play the NCAA style of game with full face shields and no physical contact. However, the 2 teams that played the hardest games physically in the playoffs are meeting for the SC.
And Q and Ulfie sure look bad over the Kempny situation. I'm sure Stanbo can turn that 3rd round pick into another ballerina.
Hope they ask Ovi whether he likes having Wilson on his team. |

Speaking of Eddie - when he was coaching Pitt I recall he was only of the few in the organization that wanted MAF to be on the big team.
Watching Vegas now, maybe Ediie for a GM position might not be a bad call. |

If he had been handled properly, kempney could have filled a big hole for the 18-19 hawks, and he wouldn’t have cost a single asset. |

congrats to the caps they played great since losing the 1st 2 at home in R1...road warriors for sure...
the bolts flat out disappeared in G6 and 7; they might as well stayed in the locker room after the 2nd period... |

Eddie O with nice jab at Q for his mismanagement of Kempny. - FourOrr
Much deserved in my opinion. I mean I'm not about to say we gave up the next Bobby Orr, but the guy never got a consistent chance to play. The first time he made a mistake, he was in the press box for the next 10-15 games. Well, good for him. I know he had to be frustrated with the way he was handled, but he never complained or caused any kind of issue. Now he's getting ready to play a regular shift in the Stanley Cup, so my guess is Quenneville and the Hawks have been erased from his memory. My only question is when it was obvious Q wasn't fond of his game in his first season, why the Hawks bothered to re-sign him. |

Exactly. So did Q really give Kempny time to develop? Leddy? And btw, I agree with you regards to Q's defensive scheme - it is very difficult for even veteran defensemen like Trevor Daley to adapt to as an example. It's Q's apparent reluctance to adapt defensive schemes to the players he has that raises concerns for me. Q is an awesome coach but even the best often run their course. |
