When did Tkachuk sign with the Hawks?

Jets/Yotes, Blues, and Thrashers

- Chunk

"Cheap" Dollar Bill signed him to an offer sheet to what I believe at the time was the highest salary in the NHL. Winnipeg actually matched.

I think they tried with Chris Gratton too...(of the top of my head)

He sure did… but… The new owners in Winnipeg fronted the money to match the offer sheet

Man with Mark Hunter now a FA would I love to see the HAWKS take a run at him for scouting duties ,maybe with a eye to a GM job down the line . The guy knows talent .I believe his niece works for the organization in some capacity .. Maybe he could bring in Dale to coach .

Ball wasn't spherical, hence the funny bounce.

Have you watched a single clip of Tkachuk? You just assume he's a meathead grinder?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEvEvPpcfYQ#t=22s

The dude is ranked ahead of all your 'top end skill' guys like Kotkaniemi, Veleno, Wahlstrom for a reason. His brother has high end skill, his dad had major high end skill.

I'm just shocked that you're sticking to this BS 'not high end skill' narrative. You're simply wrong.

Brady Tkachuk's Player Profile

Dan Marr - Director of NHL Central Scouting: "He’s a complete package who can be impactful in every situation, with and without the puck. If you need a goal, he’ll go get a scoring chance. If you’re protecting a lead, he’ll be responsible defensively. If you need someone to go in there and throw their weight around a little bit, he’s a guy who steps up. He seems to rise to those occasions."

Guillaume Lepage - NHL.com - April 30: "The son of United States Hockey Hall of Fame forward Keith Tkachuk and younger brother of Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk. In addition to holding his own offensively, Tkachuk brings an intense and gritty style of play.

Mike Morreale - NHL.com - April 30: "Tkachuk can dictate and control the play with his speed and physical attributes. He has the size, hands and ability down low to create matchup problems, and revels in high-pressure moments."

Craig Button - TSN - April 28: "Has the skill and will to be a strong contributor in any type of game and in all situations. Makes teams and those he plays with better."

Sam Cosentino - SportsNet - April 28: "All of the elements are in place to become a producing power forward who is responsible enough to play in all situations. Oh, and he’ll be good at drawing the opposition’s attention, too."

Steve Kournianos - SportingNews/The Draft Analys - April 28: "His last name may be synonymous with hard-nosed play, goal scoring and pugilism, but this power winger has great vision, an incredibly soft set of hands and anticipates puck travel better than any of his draft-eligible peers. Brady is both quicker and more disciplined than brother Matthew or father Keith."

Cam Robinson - DobberProspects - April 26: "Had an adequate season as one of the younger players in the NCAA, but his lights out World Junior showing moved the needle for many. His hands are soft, his shot his heavy and he plays an abrasive, pro-style game."

Tkachuk's going to college. How can you trust he'll sign with you. I wouldn't waste the pick. This part of the system is flawed.

Odds are he’ll be gone by the 8th pick anyhow. But you do have to wonder if the fact that a prospect is committed to college is part of the decision process in making a pick. Especially with the top ten or fifteen picks.

Yeah. To waste a pick that high stings.

Getting nothing for Hayes still stinks.

I am sure you guys are watching this Washington in Tampa game tonight, how about the fire and passion that Tom Wilson plays with? Any chance any of the current Blackhawks play with that passion? Not a goddamn chance!

Nahhhh....we don't want somebody like Tom Wilson do we ??? He's a "hack" as posted by one of our regulars.
Holy HELL. ....he'd sure fire this HAWKS team up wouldn't he.
I could finally put away the HO HUM hockey comments.
What a beast in that fight too.
Unfortunately, Quenneville would tame him instantly so really why bother ??

I enjoy a lot of your insight, but YOUR team is sitting home now , maybe the Sunday morning no check leagues suits that type of play you arre looking for. I for 1 want the Hawks to get a couple of big fiery bruisers that can play. I hope this Soft Euro influx the Bowman is enamoured with bites him right in the ass. None of those guys he just signed will amount to anything. If they are so good, why didn't their agents place them with better teams on the upswing? Tom Wilson in a Hawk uni? I'm n!

Hock, I like him too, but Q will neuter him, he's got to go out and find some of the resident tough guys and challenge them , he starts winning some tilts, he'll get noticed and respect out there. We already know he can play, but then again it goes back to Q.
Someone mentioned Mark Hunter as a potential GM replacement, he was a hard nosed player, he'll hire a coach of the same ilk.

This is why you need someone on your team that is 1) a good fighter but can play the game, and; 2) someone like Barret could be one day for us. Someone who will go run either Wilson or one of their star players. Let players police the game. Wilson needs a few players to give him a Gordie Howe stick in the ribs. I am sure there is part of the readership here whom IF playing would like to hand Wilson a nasty check. In hockey sometimes you need an eye for an eye retribution, other times you can take a big check but don't retaliate with pay back

come on WTC...a pycho out of control head case out to hurt players like wilson is the reason the caps are 1 game from the finals...get a grip...

hawks won 3 cups WITHOUT FELON'S like him...

he is a disgrace to the sport...but thats what the NHL continues to want and tolerate...so be it

100 % in agreement. The "NO check" NO intensity Blackhawks are losing fans by leaps and bounds.....and another year of "Soft" additions will cost some jobs.
