7 years, 49 mill for Evander Kane with the Sharks? - SoftServe
Looks like it.
Buffalo gets their 1st rounder if he signs as well. |

Forsling scores, now 3-3 period two. Hayden as well scored his 3rd in the AHL playoffs earlier in this game.
Interesting Norell and Snuggerud around all season, do not make lineup in playoffs but Tuulola late season add with I think one or none AHL gp, none in playoffs is inserted after Icehogs go down, 2-0 over weekend. With three gp at Rockford this week they have an opportunity to go up 3-2.
Luke Johnson scored, so now Icehogs lead (4-3)
is precariouss at best.
The AHL.com site has a story by the parent Dallas Stars about how several young prospects are growing for the baby Texas Stars. |

Icehogs living on the edge.
Ahead by one goal entering the final frame and Texas lassoed us, then went ahead, 5-4. Time whittled down only 2:14 left to forge a tie game and hope to get back in the series with an OT win.
That Corry Franson, he has been special for Rockford since his arrival. He recorded nine goals in the regular season and his 5th playoff tally pushed the game to OT. Back as soon as I see what happened next.
A Luis btw not in lineup coaches decision or injured? He is a good little player. I think he could play as a scorer on a third even possibly a second line occasionally. Didn't he lead the team in points? He might just defy the odds of a size disadvantage. Alright, buckle your seat belts.
Oh how I hate to be the purveyor of bad hockey results.....they Texas won...they have been playing like a team on a destiny, destiny's darling had won several OT games already and chalk up another one. Not likely to come back from 3-0. You can cheer for Vegas or cheer against the team with less talent making it to the final. How could they not be favorite to bring the Holy Grail to the sin strip. How can you choose Tampa or Washington to win it all. Someone has and I am curious what their argument is. |

Aaaaaaannnddd.... #IceHogs lose 6-5 in OT.
Such a shame... they battled back. Now at a 3-0 deficit with game 4 on Thursday. |

I think they likely will resign the youngest of the bunch, Duclair. I don't think they traded for him to let him for UFA unless he asks for more than he is worth. |

If Tzchuk is there at 8 you gotta take him. He will play his at BU next year and join whatever NHL team drafts him next Spring when NCAA ends. Tzchuk-Schmaltz-Kane would be fun.... |

Would you take him over Wahlstrom? That would be a tough choice and I hope one that Stan needs to make. Ideally Iād still want the Hawks to draft Boqvist, but I donāt think he makes it to #8. |

Agreed, I donāt think they give up on Duclair. Heāll likely get another short-term āshow-meā deal. Duclair has arbitration rights so it could be interesting. If he tries to go for a larger deal the Hawks will ship him out or let him walk.
Hinostroza and Jurco both have arbitration rights too, although I expect neither to use it. Vinnie should be signed to a decent 2-3year deal, while heās not a superstar heās a solid bottom 6 forward thatās good for 30-35 points. I expect Jurco back too, but on a one year deal that can be fully buried in Rockford.
Iām sure Hayden will be signed too, but Iām not sure that type of deal. Iām leaning towards a one-year deal but I wouldnāt be surprised if the Hawks locked him up for a bit longer.
The free agent priorities in the next couple of years are Schmaltz and DeBrincat. Iām sure Stan will lock up both guys on long term deals. Schmaltz can be re-signed on July 1,will Stan get him inked to a contract now or wait until next off season and sign #8 and #12 together?

Tkachuk does not have the high end skill to play with Kane and Schmaltz. The Hawks cannot waste this high pick. Canāt teach high skill, a player either has it or does not. I cannot see the Hawks taking him. Hawks have been burned when they have not drafted high skill.

Whenever thereās a discussion about Stan signing a player the inherit assumptions are the following:
- too much term
- too much money
- poor timing
- full NMC |

He is a large power forward that skates very well, has soft hands and can score in any way....off the rush, outside shots, and dirty goals in the tough areas. He also has a mean streak and plays on the edge. Define high skill? He has a full package skill set that those who are paid to analyze hockey for a living see as a sure fire Top 5 pick in a deep draft. Sure, nobody is a sure thing except #1 overall in most drafts, but thereās nothing that tells me he isnāt an almost immediate top 6 impact power forward in the NHL. Based on highlight videos and scouting reports I think both Tzchuk and Wahlstrom would be great additions to the forward group. I favor Tzchuk if both are available due to the nearly unmatched softness of the Hawks amongst NHL teams. |

I can see both sides with you and Z3. Understand I haven't seen enough of anyone to have an opinion on who they should draft. But certainly I agree with you the hawks have a need for a hard nosed forward. But in the top 10 in a supposedly deep draft I agree with Z3 that the best speed/skill combination with the #8 pick is the way to go, especially in todays game. Where I go my own way is that I think the most pressing need for the hawks right now is defense. And we know that is a position that takes a long time to acclimate. So for the first pick I'd say Z3 is right. Then wheel the other first round pick with whatever else they have to acquire a solid defenseman with experience. All the while hoping some of the Euro or college dudes pan out. |

With 8th overall pick IĀ“m ok with everyone named Boqvist, Hughes, Dobson, Bouchard, Tkachuk, Wahlstrom, Kotkaniemi or even Farabee. No clear preferece on there. If there is a one name I would be disappointed with that pick.. Ty Smith. |

I think Duclair stays. He has skill and tons of speed. I think he just needs to learn how to play more effective in all zones. If he commits himself and agrees to a 1-year "prove it" deal, he'll be on the roster in the fall. |

I mentioned that the Hawks only have 1.2M in bonus overage from 2017-18 season and just when you think they are working on getting that number down, I just noticed Stan handed Dominik Kahun a max. performance contract.
Kahun, although unlikely to hit those bonuses, would carry a cap hit of 3.8M if he achieves this!
The Hawks must be really high on this guy to lure him here with that type of deal. Oh, and also in favour for the Kahun camp, if he doesn't make the team, he has the European Assignment Clause.
Who is this guy's agent? |

Would be a hell of a find if this guy hits those bonuses. Maybe Stan can then have a second chance at trading a superstar that everyone will cry about losing a couple years from now.

If this guy turns out to remotely resemble Arvidsson he's worth every penny. Not holding my breath, but ya never know.
