Watching the playoffs this year and just last night got me thinking. Montreal should have a core of Subban, Mcdonagh, Sergachev and Price. Talk about a team that has zero idea what it's doing. - tomburton99

The fact they got a 30 goal scorer for free because somebody wanted to protect Alex Petrovic is gonna make any team look better.
Fun fact: Marchessault has 7 goals this post season. Petrovic has 5 career goals in 228 games. |

I remember when Marchessault was part of the Rangers organization...although not sure if he ever played a game with the Rangers |

Can't really blame the Rangers for not keeping him. Same with Columbus and maybe Tampa. Florida has no excuse. He scored 30 goals. And not only did they give him away, they were like why don't you talk Smith and 4th round pick too. |

I live on Vancouver Island . We hear nonstop that the big one is coming. I can't live in fear of it coming but I do have a earthquake kit that I replenish every six months . I guess the kit won't help if we slip into the Pacific Ocean but if it just wrecks the Infrastructure we should be fine for a week or so . At least I hope so !! |

Skinner would have to come at a small bargain in a trade, with him having only one year left on his contract. Besides his offensive production drop last season, and his known concussion history, he was also a disappointing (-27), and is a (-96) in 579 Reg. season career games.
My one Carolina consideration is 23 year old d'man Brett Pesce, who grew up in Tarrytown, NY just a few minutes from the Rangers practice facility. Despite his (-6) rating in last season's 56 games played, & his (-7) in his first one in 2015/16, he was in contrast, a (+23) in between in 2016/17. His 56 only games played in 2017/18 was due to a concussion after sustaining a puck shot to his head, plus missing the final few weeks with a shoulder injury. But I don't see Carolina trading Pesce, nor a Slavin on defense, unless overwhelmed offer wise if undergoing a rebuild, & having extended both long term just last off season.
Noah Hannifan would be a second consideration at defense, but I would not go near Justin Faulk, and his 8 Goals & 23 Assists, with his terrible (-26) rating in 76 games played last season. Faulk has 74 Goals & 149 Assists in 477 Reg. season career games, along with an equally horrible (-109) rating.
In comparison, Shatty's 5 Goals & 18 Assists, with his own poor (-14) rating, came while playing with a torn meniscus in all 46 of his games played this past season. But at least he is a (+3) in 536 Regular season career games overall, to go with his 73 Goals and 248 Assists. |

Listening to Elliotte Friedman’s 31 Thoughts Podcast, he days that what he hears is that Sheldon Keefe is not the Rangers’ choice. He mentioned a few names from juniors and Lane Lambert but said he was just spit-balling. If New York is waiting to speak with someone whose exam is still in the playoffs, Todd Reirden would seem to be the one who might be on their radar screen and tops on their list. |

That's interesting. I just jumped on to say I heard from someone with the Capitals that the Rangers want to interview Reirden. For those who don't know, he works with the caps d. Just passing it along. |
