Skinner is 27, and has a recent 30 goal season. There's no chance he's signing a 2-3 year deal - jcragcrumple
I'd have to agree with that |

So you're saying he'll probably get $8M/year for 3 inches? |

Current starters next year on right side... Shatty, AdA, Pionk. We are not fielding same lineup that finished the season. Faulk makes a ton of sense. 2 years left at reasonable salary. Still young. We have plenty of left D men. I don’t care who the coach is. We need another experienced right D. If Trouba or Hamilton aren’t available, I’d be in on Faulk. |

You can have Skinner for a bag of donuts and 1st, a 2nd and Ryan Spooner. |

Well, he said he doesn't want to go anywhere. Ehlers' extension kicks in next season and they have to pay Laine/Connor the year after that. Wheeler is a UFA after next year too and I imagine they'd like to bring him back even at age 33 (how old he'll be at the start of his next deal).
I think they'll ultimately find a way to get Trouba signed long-term too, but it's not a sure-thing. They may have to trade Morrissey or find a creative way to squeeze him in too (he's going to be an RFA when the Jets' season ends). |

If its between Trouba and Wheeler, you let Wheeler walk. |

Probably, but he was their overall point leader by 20pts this year. That's a big loss up front.
I just have a feeling they'll move Morrissey to try and mitigate their cap exposure. Plus they'd get a pretty nice return for a 23 year old defenseman who had a strong season. |

I just can separate the name Morrissey from the singer version. Just can't do it.

Crazy the age of Laine, Ehlers, Scheifele and Connor the next best point getters after Wheeler. They got a good team for the future. |

And plenty more talent on the way. Vesalainen, Niku, Roslovic, Stanley, Samberg.
They're going to be a really good team for quite awhile. |

They've built that team smartly and have drafted really well. That's the recipe for success, no doubt.
