It's been reported by the hockeybuzz media that Florida won't trade Ekblad.

We should counter with "fine, we didn't want Ekblad anyway." even though we totally do..

trevling in calgary worked under burke and don maloney.

i'm not sure he's a good gm. i'm curious to see if they move out a dman and for what price.

Sparks over Liljegren. Calgary only has a 36 year old Mike Smith and David Rittich

I believe all of them were first round picks (I'm unsure about Kap)

EDIT: Just checked. 22nd pick overall.

You know how people are really relunctant to trade numerous first rounders (or give them up in an offer sheet) for a great player?

Sometimes I think it would be worth it.

Especially when your team drafts the likes of Beaulieu, Leblanc, McCarron and Tinordi in the first round. All completely useless.

I mean 4 maybes for a sure thing impact player.... why not?

same year as Nylander;

So let me count how many first round picks the leafs had on their roster this year:

Matthews
Marner
Nylander
Kadri
Marleau
Rielly
Gardiner
Kapanen
JVR
Hainsey (By montreal in 2000!)

(honourable mention to the GOAT cause he played a couple games and was a 1st round pick)

People get stuck on what they missed in the end. GMs have lost jobs most likely on the likes of Giroux going 22nd overall.

Our chief of scouting wanted to draft Giroux but Gauthier told him we really needed to draft a defenseman and decided we'd draft David Fisher instead.

should cost a top prospect, ok/meh player and a pick

liljegren, kapanen and the 25th.

i think calgary would take that. i don't really like giving that up.

I didn't count Scherbak because there is a small chance he doesn't turn into complete garbage.

At least Poehling looks decent.

If I'm Calgary.

I keep Hamilton unless the offer blows me away.

This isn't the case here...

Schenn has remained in the league as a 5 - 7 guy so I give him credit for having some type of career. Plus he got us JVR.
