Not sure, how efficient is he with rotary phones? That might come back to bite us. Especially, if there is a short cord attached to the wall mounted phone.

Dear Kyle;

What are your thoughts on rotary phones?

- PatC80

We used to have a rotary phone on the exposed brick wall in the kitchen growing up.

That thing was badass. Then we replaced it with a cordless phone that you could eventually only pickup calls with because all the buttons stopped working.

Technology sucks

I think we already established a few days ago that only a younger GM can understand the new rules of the NHL, so maybe he will be faster at dialing phones also.
- Aetherial

He's definitely got the edge when it comes to speed dial and using his smartphone, but those old guys get up effing early. It's gonna be tight.

this made me think of this story i read on twitter about Lou

I have a really funny story about Lou actually that I never think of. I just thought of it. So I will share. So I used to work at MLSE, and I was talking with one of the head office guys from TFC at the beginning of this season about how Lou is a genius.

He told me he believed that Lou really solidified his legacy in New Jersey ( this guy is from there ) and if he could do half as good a job here as he did there, Toronto would be well off. So Lou comes into the office his first day of work as Leafs GM.

Everything is normal for him. He starts talking on the phone, emailing the whole 9 yards. Then he calls down to his assistant “can I have a completely secured phone/fax line installed in my office please? I need it done tomorrow” The assistant has no idea what he means.

So they ask him what he means, and he says in New Jersey, he always had a secured phone/fax line so that no one could tap his line and get all the info. They say ok, and look around at companies to see if they can find something....nothing.

So after a day of calling around they don’t find anything about a secured fax/phone line that isn’t tapable. So they call New Jersey! And say hey where did you guys get this secured fax/phone line for Lou he has been bragging about for the past day and a half?

And they patch them through to his old assistant, they answer with. Oh we just switched his phone line from Blue to Red and told him it was encrypted, and he was ok with it. Maybe the best story I’ve heard about Lou in my life.

If the leafs are trading a top line player they should be getting a D that will easily be their best Dman

Faulk aint it

- senstroll

the reason to trade for faulk is if carolina undervalues him.

coming off a terrible pdo year. new crew may be looking to jettison him for that.

Crap, I didn't think about that. Dubas needs to schedule a late meeting with Dundon/Waddell. Like after 4:30 pm.

We had one in our living room growing up... That thing would ring so flipping loud, it would wake everyone up.. Not sure if it had a volume indicator, if it did, the options were loud/louder/really loud.

Jones is one of them youd trade Nylander for. but thats not an option.

sergachev..jury is still out on him. Wouldnt have traded Nylander for him (left shot anyways)
