Almost never happen. I think this was done once with Hossa and then everyboby and their uncle were talking about a sign and trade.

Mind you, this is almost what happened with Subban. Even if I think he was traded one year after the extension or close to that.

Larry Carrière demeure avec le Canadien. Mais au lieu de rester DG du Rocket, il devient directeur du personnel des joueurs à Laval. Ce n'est pas encore clair si le poste de DG du Rocket sera comblé ou non.

Maybe trade Pacioretty to get in or near the top 10 in this year draft. At the deadline they would get a late first round pick and a prospect worth some poop but they could get a better pick if they trade him sooner (one would think).

The Oilers come to mind at 10. If not, NYI has two first round pick at 11 and 12.

Of course if you can get a team to give away a good younge center, you do it.

I just don't get what he adds. He may very well add something that we don't see out here. But it definitely isn't "winning".
